What is the fuel system pressure with the engine off and the engine running? Is the low pressure warning light coming on? If you squeeze the outlet hose from the injection pump, does the pressure go up to 17 psi?

John, haven't pinched it off yet when there was pressure. Yesterday, there was no pressure until the pump was hit slightly. I'll ask the mechanic to pinch it off if the pump comes on again. Have any idea as to why the engine dies on acceleration?

I forgot. The pressure warning sensor has been removed to hook up the T for the external pressure instrument.

Ok. Having to tap the pump to "wake it up" is a common sign of impending failure.
