Mechanical Fuel Pump Rod

Would anyone know what the dimensions are (OD x L) of the actuator rod in the mechanical fuel pump. I couldn't figure out why it wasn't pumping until I took it off the block. This is on a 1600 536 block if it matters.

Thanks in advance.

There are 3 different sizes of rods - if it has a spin-on oil filter attached to the front timing cover, it is the long fat one, if it has the element filter in the can attached to the block, it has 2 rods, the first is the thin medium length one that's being driven by the cam on the dizzy, then a short fatter one drives off that, through the triangular casting attached to the timing cover, and actuates the pump plunger. Sorry, I don't have the dimensions to hand at present!

It is the cartridge style that comes off the block. But I've only notice one rod, about 2" long from what I recall.

The other push rod, the one actuated by the oil pump, is under the fuelpump adapter.

Check out this thread for the rod dimensions.

Ok, just to close the loop on this thread and after making up a new rod (the smaller diameter one) of course I found the original. So here is the skinny:

The rod that goes into the block is 6.5Dia x 50mm.
The rod that goes thru the adapter plate and actuates the pump is 5.97Dia x 51.77mm.

This is for this type of pump:

Thanks for everyone's input.
