40DCOE Secondary choke modification
Anyone with older 40DCOE's that need secondary chokes are probably aware that the Spanish 40 secondaries are retained differently than the spring-in-the-channel method of older Italian 40DCOE's. Often one ends up with "slide-in-velocity-stack" secondaries, rather than needed flanged-style use with cold air boxes or air cleaners.

There are several methods that can be used to seal the big gap if you need flanged, but have stack type. I have been making "flanges" from PVC turned on my lathe. These are pressed onto the non-flanged chokes when partially machined, then finished on the choke. This is a 100% no-fail solution for the resoulte Weber builder with a lathe.
