AR 323 Blue paint formula

Just wanted to share my car paint formulation for 1969 Blue AR 323.

Reminder: 1969, 1750 Spider veloce.
Last PO had it stripped and painted at quite an expense in 1997.
I have had a hard time figuring out what the color code was. It is AR 323.

I finally found in some paper work the bill for the paint job. $7500 !!!
It is a nice job although the car had an accident since.

I hope the details of the paint mix will help others.

Roland

the Ditzler web site www.autocolorlibary.com has a very large selection of Alfa Paints and formulas, but the yearly list does not contain all the colors that could be gotten, and there are some changes, in the mid 70's AR323 is on the list as AR3213, and adding to the confusion are the names, My 76 is AR323 and the color selection card I picked up at the dealer that year calls it Cadet BLue, somebody at Englewood Cliffs must have been feeling creative.

Alfa of corse,
Yeah, AR323 was also called, "SKIPPER BLUE".
Alfa has always been creative with their names and colors.
I've got a 67 Duetto- originally painted this AR323, yet according to Alfa the color wasn't offered until 1970.

Wink

if anyone actually try's to put a correct list of all the paint code numbers, ID's the codes that are the same color, and the different names given to each code. I'll pitch in for their "mental Health" fund

AR-323 had many names between 1965 and 1980: Farina Blue, Skipper Blue, Preussian Blue, Prussian Blue, Medium Blue. The Ditzler code is 12584 and the DuPont code is 37004.

Thanks to this thead, I learned that I put the wrong AR code in the 1972 Color Reference Chart. I listed AR-363 instead of AR-323 (possibly a typo) which is a blue that was available from 1981 to 1984.

That is one fine looking Duetto. The paint job is very striking.
