I have done one of these before. I used off the shelf plasticote bumper paints to do a front bumper. First thing is to get the surface free of imperfections. A little filler on any gouges. Sand it smooth. After that primer her. Wet sand. Primer again. Wet sand again. Silver metallic across the upper portion (follow the edge). Black on the sides. Do 3-4 light coats of each. Should be looking pretty good at this point. Then clear it with a couple of coats. Should come out looking like new if you take your time, spray in a relative dust/debris free area, don't spray too much on a single coat (runs), don't spray too close (runs), and don't hold the nozzle down when you switch directions (runs). And follow the curing directions on the primer, paint, and clear so that each coat is dry enough to proceed to the next coat.
