Wheel Powder Coat Color

I am looking for the color code for the powder-coating on the wheels from 1969.

Reudi's post:

http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/show...5&pagenumber=3

Has the following color which seems to be a near match:

Paint Name (I/E/F/D): Grigio Chiaro Metallizzato / Metallic light Grey / Gris Clair Métallisé / Hellgrau Metallisiert

Paint Code(s):

* AR-727 (1966-1980), Ditzler/PPG #32838, Du Pont #43078, Standox Classics.
* AR-727-1 (1972), Du Pont #8751.
* AR-737 (1969-1978), Du Pont #37005, #42667.
* AR-748 (1976-1984), Ditzler/PPG 32838, Du Pont #43078.
* AR-765 (1982-1985)
* AR-775 (1987-1989)

Anyone have any thoughts? Anyone know if powdercoat colors and traditional paint codes match up????

Check out this thread. It lists BMW Polaris Silver #060 and AR 727 as proper matches. Won't be able to check powdercoat colors 'til March 1 when I get back to work from holiday.

wheel powder coating

I'm sure powder coating produces a nice look but I used the BMW Polaris Silver on my wheels in a conventional paint and I can't imagine a better finish. I had them all sandblasted then took them to a paint shop in Grand Junction, CO. We got some Sikkens brand paint from Holland and it went on like glass. -- Carl Goodwin
