The color chips are very helpful but I'm a bit confused that they don't refer to a particular model year. Three blues look promising for my "new" '86 Spider Veloce (Dark Blue, French Blue and Bluette), but knowing the year they were used would narrow it down. ?????

Well, apparently, you can't read very well or don't care to pay attention. The title of the thread clearly says "1972 Alfa Romeo Color Chart". The first post in this thread says: "Please, do NOT post here!" and explains where questions should be posted. So does the post immediately above yours. There is also some information you may want to look up in the "Guest & New Members - Please Read!" thread. Other than that, welcome to AlfaBB.

Scolding
Ruedi,
Posting of a reply in that section was of course my error. By the time I hit the reply button it was too late, no doubt being involved with the task at hand rather than the rules. However if it is so horrific to post a reply there, I wonder why there is even a reply button. Hmmm!
As to my apparent stupidity about the 1972 Paint posting, I can indeed understand "1972", however you might note that my original question stated that my car was a 1986. Perhaps you overlooked that. It also seemed so strange that dozens of colors could be even for the entire Alfa line. It's easier to ask than to wonder.
I found the paint today at your third suggestion: A local paint shop not only had the paint sheets, but printed the sticker labels for the trunk, and mixed the correct formula. I'm set and will post a message as to this source.
I think that's all that you blasted me for. Nonetheless, thanks for the push in the right direction. You solved the problem.

Racing Green
I am restoring a 1974 GTV 2000. I saw a Spider sold on ebay yesterday, would wonder if anyone knows the paint code for this car.....I want to paint my GTV this color.
The ad says it is "Alfa Racing Green" but I do not find any Alfa Racing Green on any of the paint codes/samples on this thread. I have asked the seller, and he is not responding.
The color can be seen at the ebay ad:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...2203855&rd=1,1
Thanks. Any help appreciated.

Sigh. Another guy who doesn't care to follow instructions about where to post such questions.
