Definitely the latter, if you can get someone to scan the paint on your car. Two reasons:
- If you walk into an automotive paint store, and tell that kid behind the counter that you need AR119 for a 38-year old Alfa Romeo, he'll look at you like you're speaking Martian.
- Even if the paint store does come up with AR119, your car has faded somewhat over time - new paint won't match.
