It isn't perfect, but I like the way it looks and it's very affordable.
did you fill the holes with foam first or apply the adhesive straight to the cracks and then sand back...............

I went straight to the adhesive and sanded it down... kind of using it like body filler.

Time to resurrect this one. How am I going to go with this repair on my dash? These aren't cracks, they're canyons. I have corners off all over the place, how can I reshape these?

It can be fixed....

The question is: Is it worth your time to fix it. The cracks can be filled and sanded and filled and sanded and filled and sanded....

You get my drift. It might be easier and quicker to find another dash with fewer, less daunting cracks and re-hab it, saving the really bad one for a winter project.

I am sure that I saw a thread or post on here wher a bloke used fiberglass and bog to fix it up, as far as shaping it though.

Where there is a will there is a way.

I have the same prob with my dash, although the cracks are not nearly as huge

recovering could be a mish, not sure if you can do that yourself, be good if you can, I need to research that more

Have you found a suitable ‘truck bed' liner locally?

I started on my badly cracked Alfetta dash last week. I found a plastic bumper repair kit that you mix with hardner at Auto One that works perfectly but i’m having trouble finding a suitable "truck bed liner" type spray in Aus that doesnt cost a small fortune. They sell the U-Pol Rapture here but they sell it in a large kit at like 300 bucks !

You can buy Duplicolor products in Aus but they do not import the truck bed liner in the spray can that our yankee friends have used.

I tried a “rubberised coating” spray that I found at Supercheap but in typical Supercrap fashion its no good. It gives a decent texture but it scratches too easily.

So my next test will involve a black ‘stone texture’ spray paint that I found at Bunnings Warehouse. The cap on the spray can is a sample of what it looks like and the finish looks like it could be lightly sanded back to give it the right look on the dash. Of course I have no idea if it will work yet before I run some tests on a scrap dash I have but im optimistic as its scratch resistant, dries hard, appears flexible enough and should work with the vinyl paint once its sanded back.

So wish me luck! Will post pics later.

Yeah Im in the same boat here too, very hard to get the same product in oz. I found a waterproof, 'tank liner', but it stays sticky! Grrrrrrrrrrr. Im not paying 300 bucks for a full siz drum!

I have three extra cans from doing my floor boards that I would be happy to sell.
Is it really that hard to get in the south?

Sure they sell the stuff but only in kits north of $200. Nothing comes in a spray can over here, hell that would just be way too easy :P

Crikey with all the utes around i could make a killing supplying the stuff here.

I found one online store based in the US that will ship a can of Duplicolor truck bed liner to Aus but it calculated the shipping at $75... no thanks !

Hang tight guys, ill be testing this product i picked up this weekend, and if it works i'll let you guys know

Freakier than Uri Geller, John:
a) Another BBer and fellow GT-stripper (I had to hyphenate that) has offered me a not-perfect-but-much-better dash that is probably the go.
b) Uh, it is winter here.

Yeah, I'm getting lots of blank stares when I say "bedliner". Hangin' on, GCL.

Air-freighting aerosols is a huge PITA, hence the cost. Sea-freighting them... well, I sorta want to get it done before the sun starts calling again.

Good to see a few BBers having a crack at this, great to be able to share some "live" experience.
