Vintage Racing Harnesses?

I'm restoring a 1965 Giulia that was converted to a race car at some point in the past. So I'm keeping true to that feel and am looking for a good solution for seat belts. I don't want to install some new Simpson 5 point harness because it will look out of place.

Where can I find a period-appropriate 4 or 5 point harness? Any pointers?

/df

Aircraft harnesses were used back in the day. Modern NEW aircraft stuff will likely be expensive due to FAA regulations. You might consider something custom using the older style hook type fasteners.

Thanks for the suggestion. Any idea where I might obtain something period correct?

Competition belts for a '65 spider

Well, I hope so. I have a '65 1600, Ausca spider, like yours, but with GTA running gear. It came from Alfa with the belts pictured below. The forged eyebolts through the floor, have factory welded in reinforcement in the floor pan. Some time ago this was researched here on the BB, and it was found that some of the last Giulia Spider Veloce's had these mounts.
Next, my '65 Ferrari 275 GTB had NO factory belts, or mounts. Early in my ownership, I raced it, and eventually built a 5 point system, copied from an F40. I replicated the later mounts from a late '67 275 GTB/4. My starting point was a Simpson "latch & link" system that I bought from Pegasus Auto Racing, (wwwPegasusAutoRacing.com) 1-800-688-6946. This also appears period correct, in either of these cars.

I have a 2-point lap-only belt very similar if not identical to the above (thick, ~4" wide, quick release latch) that was taken out of a '69 Berlina when I "civilized" it from the PO's mods, including 45 DCOE's. I'd be willing to part with it for a small contribution to my beer fund, see link below. I listed it in the classifieds awhile back - LINK.

Anfanuts,
If the fellow who requested this earlier does NOT want it, I do. Let me know in about a week or two with a PM, if you get no "bites". Thanks!

Seems like Dale was holding out for "period" 4 or 5 point harnesses. I will wait. Not in a hurry obviously, listed in 3/08.

I am going over a similar restoration and have thought about the Simpson Latch/Link, I think they look era correct, yet are good and strong for racing....... I'll be glad to consider other options.
