More pictures

Hello Cor,

Yep, you are right. There was one 'Senior' Zagato with the group as well. It was great seeing all these different classic Alfa types and hearing their great exhaust sounds!

Ciao, Olaf

I'm always amazed by the turnouts at your Dutch events - so many well kept classics!! Makes me want to move to the Netherlands!!
I don't suppose you have any other pictures of the white Alfetta sedan partially captured in the last photo of post #2???

White Alfetta

Hi Jeff,

Presto! Here is the white Alfetta. Thanks for the complements on the cars.

Somehow the Netherlands has a weak spot for Alfa's. In the late 80's, 90's and 2000's, many good examples were bought in Italy and exported to Holland. And somehow, nice original examples still turn up here but finding them is becoming harder!

Now there are more nice examples of the sixties, seventies and eighties Alfa's in the Netherlands than in Italy in my opinion. And a new country for a nice supply of classic Alfa's and other classic cars seems to be Switzerland.

Ciao, Olaf

Thanks Olaf!! Looks like they need to black out the metal "V" behind the larger center grill! Otherwise, very pretty car!

Hi Jeff,

You're welcome. Yes, blacking out the 'V' would make the job complete!
Here is another nice Alfetta, this time photographed during the 'England'-trip of our Alfaclub in 2006.

Ciao, Olaf

A nice Dutch Alfa Super in the USA

There are some nice dutch Alfa's here in the US as well.
I just sold it today to a happy new owner and it will go to many events from the AROC. I hope with the small "Dutch/Italian" license plate at the front.

When it was in Holland, in my backyard in Virginia.

Happy Motoring.

You all wonder here why there is such a turnout of cars in the Alfa Club in the Netherelands (in fact with any car clubs) Well beside the fact that people love cars you must remember, or note, the size of the country ! You only have to drive a few miles (compare to us here) to get together and that helps a lot (not to mention the amount of Alfa sold in Europe throughout the years as well)
If all of us had to drive less than 30 or 40 miles to join a Club meeting we most probably all be there. Obviously some members in Holland drive a bit more but nothing like we do here.
Claude
P.S. We went to a few Club meetings in Holland when I was the president of the jaguar Drivers Club and we were always extremely well received and welcomed.

turnout at Dutch events

Hello Claude,

We had a meeting of the 'Event comittee' of the Dutch Alfa Romeo Owners Club yesterday evening. We evaluated all the meetings from 2008 up untill last weekend. The turn out at the meetings in 2008 so far ranged from 55 to 130 cars.
We as the Dutch Alfaclub try to spread the drives and events during the year accross the country to give every member the opportunity to participate in a reasonable number of events. Participants in the event or drive do not have to announce their participation in advance.
My own experience, living in the centre of the Holland, is that most of the times we have to drive up to an hour (60 miles one way) to get to the start of the drive. Events like our 'Limburg drive' in the south, with a drive of two hours (120 miles one way) and a grand total of about 340 miles in one day for those living in the centre of the country, also have a turnout of more than 100 cars.
Below you see two different 'getting together's' to drive to the event. That's a nice way of starting the fun right away!

Ciao! Olaf
