Wine Country Classic

Anyone planning on attending this, or have attended in the past. I will be in the area during this event, and was thinking of going, any advice would be great (days to go, where to stay, when to show up, traffic, etc...).

I have gone, I live in the area, and yes its worth checking out. I think tickets are $40 or so. You can walk through the pits, talk with everyone, and its good racing. There is a small car show in the Sonoma Plaza Saturday night (I think.) Its mostly race cars, but there are a few local street cars that are allowed in. I'm trying to get on the list (its very short and somewhat exclusive.)

The races will have quite a few Alfas running, The Mozart sisters will have their GTAs out, Jon Norman will be out in his stupid fast 2L GTV running the big bore and fast class (935 Porsches ect.)

A few of us have signed up for the event, but still no word on who did or didn't get accepted.

I got my "not accepted" letter in the mail yesterday.

I forgot that I don't meet their retired and 7 figure checking account balance prerequisite. Their loss...

In my case, I know people who put on the car show. I might not show my car however. The hand of fate sent a commercial laundry cart 100 yards down a parking lot and planted it firmly in my front left wheel arch. The dent creased all the body lines in that area. How the cart got from where it should have been all the way down to my car is a mystery. It had a lot of speed when it hit. I made sure the car was parked in the safest place from those things, had it under a cover, there was nothing more I could do to prevent it. I haven't been able to find an Alfa friendly body person who does insurance work. I have a feeling this could be a huge claim for a moderate sized dent. So much for original paint.

Consider the June 24-25 LSR event

Anthony sorry to hear that you and Greg are not going. I know a number of people that meet the above requirement and still do not get accepted to some of these events. I know for Monterey they get three or four times the number of entries they can fit in the paddock.

I just sent in my entry to the June 24-25 LSR event (Laguna Seca). You guys should apply as well. At the April LSR event HMSA and track staff were soliciting more entries for June. As you know at these LSR events you get lots of track time and unlimited noise.
