Timely reminder!

Having regretted that I did not go last year, my registration for the Roadster Tour was mailed today. But, alas, no chance of a room at the Lodge so its back to the B&B 1 block off Main Street.

The Festival video is pretty good but too short. Visceral Video - Grand Prix Festival Video. If I correctly heard the announcer (??), I think she states that this year is the 50th anniversary.

How many days....?

Are we trying to make sure that there's an Alfa in each event? Or are you two avoiding each other?

I already have my B&B reservation, just need to decide which event. The concours is definitely the relaxed approach...

Best regards,

The GTV told me he's had enough with the "Honorable Mention" awards in the Concours for the past 2 years and he's decided to boycott the event. Boy, is he at the judges. It'll be a bit of Chevrolet muscle this year as in the pre-(current) GTV days.

Hi Rob,
Glad to see you'll be making the trip this year. We'll definately get together
( guess well have to include Enrique) on "Franklin" after our tours. Oh, yeah, I'll be again spending a few boring days at the Lodge

I believe the Glenora is for the "older" among us. My '93 is not old enough to participate. But then again, the idea of making sure Alfas are represented among the events is not too bad an idea.

Well, I'll definitely be at the Glen and we'll get together for sure... (We'll just have to make sure that we keep LM in check. He's got a well earned reputation at the Seneca bar... ) I'm not really sure which event to attend yet, but Rob, if you want to get into the Glenora run, with your Spider, send me a PM...

Best regards,

I might have to give this some thought as well. I'm about 3 hours from Watkins... Should be a nice drive that time of year in the spider :-)

Eric,
You are a lot closer than all of us who have posted on this thread so far! Just make sure you reserve a room as quickly as possible, 'cause this is a very well attended event. (Like just about everyone else, we have a "standing" reservation, guaranteed with a cc, every year...)

Best regards,

1948-1952 were the inclusive years for races in the streets of Watkins Glen. This year will be the 60th anniversary celebration.

Cheers, --jim

The Glenora Run cars eventially meet after their runs (unless they get lost ) at Montour Falls. Sorta cool IMO when they line up on Main Street before blasting right past Montour Falls to do the "Hot Lap" past the folks in the hospital. 2nd photo is a shot of the street the day before the event and the last shot is of the cars before their tours lined up at Glenora winery.

Just a word of advice that wherever you're at if you see this guy in your rear view mirror, accelerate and don't let him pass. Another group on a tour, mistakinly thinking he knew where he was going, ended up in Niagara Falls.

I dunno,... I heard he bought everyone drinks, before he treated them to dinner.
I think I'll be looking for him in my rear view mirror from now on...
