Raduno 6c2500 Belgium/Holland

The the 6c2500/2300B register from the Dutch Alfa Romeo Owners Club SCARB organized an international 6c2500 meeting in Belgium and the Netherlands, june 1st-3rd (details in English).

It was an amazing collection of rare and splendid Alfas, prewar and postwar models.

Clich here for my pics (or here for a slideshow, 128 pics)

A preview:

Three shades of Alfa Rosso

Colombo 12 cilinder on a 6c chassis...

...under a Castagna body.

More impressions:

Thanks for the great slide show. Any information on the history of the Castagna bodied car with the V-12 would be appreciated, especially when and why it was done, rather than installing a 6c motor

I've been told that the car was built during the war when they ran out of engines. But the car just had to be delivered to its buyer so they mounted the 12 cilinder. As soon as I have this story confirmed and when I have other details I'll post them here.

There's also a topic about this event in the Technical/Limited production forum.

Pity we didn't meet, AlfaRonny.

I took some 400 pictures over the two days. First day in Antwerp, and on the second day at the castle, underway (I was eating French fries in Holland while the cars where passing by) and later at the museum.
Sunday I went to Francorchamps for SpaItalia, and took another 250 pics.
All of my pictures are at 1280 X 960, so if anyone can convince the administrators to let me post them here, I'll start uploading immediately...

Strange looking car I'm not familiar with. Certainly a modern rebody in "the style of" the late 1930s. It kind of looks like the Stanguellini 2800.

I just read in a new Belgian Car Magazine Red Racing Green, that the car was build by Belgian F.J. Bidée in the 40's-50's.
I just googled for his name and found an Alvis TB14 which was also done by him.
It was ordered by Pierre Goldschmid? Belgian industrialist/racer who reassembled parts of TB14's and had the bodywork done by Bidée.
If anyone can translate the text, because my knowledge of the German language is pretty inexistant

During WWII a lot of cars were changed into something more useful, like a 'pickup'. After the war some of these cars had their bodywork reconverted to something more stylish and elegant like this "1934 AR 6C 1700" (???)
The lines are clearly inspired by the 6C 2500 by Touring. The car has gone through a thorough restoration by the current owner
