Cheryl,

Of which campus do you speak? I'm just curious because I am in Ann Arbor right now and things on this campus are always interesting. Go Blue!

Interesting, I would say is an understatement, unless of course you want to compare it to UCBerkeley or UCSanta Barbara; there are always things that are rip-roaring on those campuses.

I'm a die-hard Wolverine fan but I was not speaking of the University of Michigan, although, I have more than enough stories about dealing with their unions. Pat worked for the University in the late 70's, Pat's son, Mark, ran the Michigan League and did the presidential dinners for many years during the Gerald Ford years while carrying his union rule book in his back pocket, and Mark's wife worked at the university law library.

Deans, libraries, academia... seem to run in or have an attraction to the Braden family.

U of M is an interesting place to say the least. Different departments have very different characters. I have been associated with the RC and the Aerospace Engineering departments - talk about different ends of the spectrum!

Pat worked in the Engineering department at U of M, wrote and edited their Science something or other, having to do with electrophoresis and thin layer-chromotography. And who knows if I came anywhere near to spelling those correctly. Definitely, not my field....

Prior to UofM he worked for Bendix and Gelman Instruments during the moon rover years.

I'll be at the races on Sat. Does anyone know where to get the parking passes to park down in the Alfa corral?

Will

I'm going to be at the Monterey Historics and the Concorso, too. I'll make a point to stop by your booth. I'd love to meet you. I'll be with my old friend Bob who's been doing Alfas longer than most people are old.

It might be interesting for the AlfaBBer's to be able to identify each other or meet someplace at the Consourso or at the Alfa corral at the races? Maybe there could be a time or times for us to just show up at your booth? That wouldn't take much organization and it'd give us an opportunity to connect faces with names?

It's usually handled by registering and getting your tickets to LS as well as hotel accommodations through the ARA group in Northern California. They normally stay in Salinas. I would assume it's the same this year. I don't know who's in charge of it this year since I'm obviously not attending, with thanks to my lovely "new dean," otherwise known as my employer.

You could use the same system as is being used at the upcoming Detroit convention for identification; while you may not have name tags, we are printing off our BB avatars and either adhering them to our badges or wearing them as pins.

Have a great time and enjoy.

Sounds like a good plan, Daron from Vintage Customs will be with me on my stand, so as a fellow BBer (Akitaman), maybe this is possible, Avatar wearing sounds like a sensible idea - I'll chat to Daron - maybe an early morning and late afternoon meet - guess we just have to discuss it here and it will be organised!

It seems folks are confused as to what happens when. I gave this link to Simon and he found it useful - it describes most of the events during the Monterey weekend, and includes a calendar (scroll down) that puts things in good perspective, temporally-speaking:
