VIR has
moved us from their North Course to the
South Course. We (MAARC and our event partner VSCCA) did not request this change in venue. VIR told us, in effect, that we no longer had our date on the North Course, and that our choice was between the South Course and nothing. After some discussion, we’ve decided to go forward with a South Course event (remaining on the May 5-6 weekend).
While we would have preferred to hold the North Course event as it was announced, there are some advantages to using the South Course. The main one is that we will now purchase two-thirds of the track time instead of half. (VSCCA will still join us, but will only take one-third of the track time.) This will allow us to offer a Novice (including beginners) group, which allows us to accommodate a wider range of drivers while keeping the run groups a bit more homogeneous. From our first driving schools, the Alfa club has tried to offer driving events that are good for beginners, so this lets us maintain that tradition. Also, many of our regulars drove the Full Course this past weekend and will drive the North Course in April with THSCC/TZC, so South Course offers some additional variety. The final benefit is a $25 reduction in student registration fees due to the reduced cost of South Course versus North Course (current event registrants will receive $25 refunds). All that said, we regret having to make this change and we apologize for not being able to deliver the product that we had offered.
Our new pricing (for registration by 4/21) is:
$300 for Non-member Students
$285 for Member Students (Members of AROC, THSCC, TZC & 02 Group).
Add $20 after 4/21.

We hope that many of you will decide to join us and the VSCCA on the South Course for a reprise of last year’s acclaimed Small-Bore event. And again, we apologize for this change.
