Talking Group 2 Tech Session Saturday, Jan 13th

Joe English of Group 2 hosts a tech session and general meeting at his shop in Magnolia. In the general meeting part at 10:00 AM Don Kitch will be on hand to talk about the upcoming 24 Hours of Daytona. To date, Team Seattle has raised $2.1 million for Seattle Children’s Hospital. This year they have two Synergy Racing Porsche GT3 Cup entries in hopes of raising a record $500,000 for the Kami Renee Sutton Pediatric Cardiac ICU at Children’s Hospital.

The tech session follows with Ron Simons from RSRacing returning to give us an update on his new Ring-tuned coil-over/adjustable shock suspension upgrades for 105/115 GTV/Spider cars. Group 2/GiroDisc will talk about their new BIG-brake competition upgrades for Milanos and GTV6s, and a new brake upgrade for the older 105/115 and Spider cars due out in early ' 07. Group 2 also has full-programmable, full-EFI engine management upgrade with coil-packs and throttle-body kits for 4 cylinder cars. Joe’s own ’74 GTV runs this setup.

Meet at 10:00 a.m. at Group 2 Motorsports: 4442-B 27th Ave W. in Seattle, just a few blocks from Fisherman’s Terminal on the south side of the Ballard Bridge. Phone: (206) 601-4117

Thumbs up Auto Italia Magazine Previews Group 2 Tech Session

On page 44 of the current issue of Auto Italia magazine, issue 126, you’ll find a five page article, “Alfa Romeo GTV6 Battle Wagon, An Alfetta Racer in South Aferica.” The car has a 3.5-litre conversion by Dawie De Villiers of Glenwood Motors and a suspension by Ron Simons, the mad Dutchman who runs the 75 Experience and leads trips to the Nurburgring and Spa. Well we’ve never quite been able to get Dawie up here but you can talk to Ron Simons on Saturday. You’ll see the suspension setups and some of Dawie’s motors. Oh yes you’ll also see a better brake kit than the SA car has.

Emmo,

Thanks for the FYI. That sounds awsome!! Wish I could make either the Seattle or NYC Tech Sessions. Unfortunately, I have prior commintments and can't be avalible.

To my understanding through John, a one-off big brake kit built by G2/Girodisc for my 91 Spider, is to be on display or at least the info/pictures. Let us know how the turn out went.
