Italcarguy's Thanksgiving Day Run - Nov. 23 - So Cal

We will be meeting at Village Coffee Roaster in Woodland Hills, CA and departing at 8:00am. The drive should be over by 10:30am, in time to get you home with plenty of time to get ready for your holiday.

Take the Mulholland exit from the 101. Go south Mulholland Dr. Take a left into the first driveway after you pass Calabasas Rd. Here is a map on how to get to out starting point.

Village Coffee Roaster
23351 Mulholland Dr.
Woodland Hills, CA 91364

Here's the route. We'll end it in Malibu so people from the Los Angeles area can take PCH back towards Santa Monica and the valley people can take Topanga back to the 101 freeway

• Mulholland Hwy south for about 4.5 miles to Stunt Rd.

• Left onto Stunt Rd, to where it ends at Schueren Rd (aka Saddle Peak).

• Right on Schueren Rd to Piuma Rd.

• Right on Piuma Rd to Las Virgenes (aka Malibu Cyn).

• Right on Las Virgenes to Mulholland Hwy.

• Left on Mulholland Hwy, past Kanan Rd. to Decker Canyon.

• Left on PCH and go south to Topanga or continue PCH to Santa Monica.

• Home home in time for turkey, football, and family.

GTV run will be in Spring 2007. This is for whoever wants to come out and play. Bring the GTV and have your brother drive the Berlina.

We already have 9 cars coming. Put a plate on the race car. I hear you know these roads from your "younger" days.

Looking at your route, I'm jealous. I used to live in Westlake Village not far from Decker Canyon and I used to love early morning runs out along the Mullholland "dragon tail" Of course back then it was in a '73 914 2.0 that ate that road for lunch and asked for more. I don't miss the surprise landslides that left valence crunching boulders in the roadway but still it is an incredible stretch of road. you have to love how you can sit at numerous turnouts and look down at the road winding through the canyons below.... Would make for some great video....HINT HINT

Have a great time!

I did the drive today to make sure there were no road closures and it looks all clear and ready for us. I started at Village Coffee Roaster and a full loop back to the 101 freeway is exactly 70 miles. It took me a little over 90 minutes without any stops. Next Thursday should be nice. Here are some pictures from today.
