I can help you with your dilemma. You drive one car, and let me drive the other. And we switch halfway through the drive.
If I were to show up in the truck, you guy's would leave me behind after the first corner.

Hey all,
Never done any of these cruises before and I was wondering just how sporting they are. I burnt my pads down to practically nothing in the mountains and autocrosses and don't have time to put on my new track pads and rotors and properly break them in by tomorrow. I really want to join you but don't want to be straggler holding you guys back. (It still stops fine, just not race worthy anymore). Please let me know. Thanks.

It's very important to have good brakes up in these hills. The downhill stretches are long and twisty so you don't really get a good chance to have your brakes cool down.

Okay, I'll have to check how much pad is left tonight. I might have a spare pair sitting around (the right front is the most warn from an earlier bearing problem). I was at 30% last I checked. Just wish the new brakes were on. I shopped around a lot and hope I made the right choice. This would have been perfect to find out.

Oh man!!!!! Please post some pictures when done so we can see how much fun you had. It's raining here in the Boston-Providence area. I'll be thinking of you all in my rainy drive to eat some turkey. I will be dining with an older uncle who owns a '47 MGTD (I think it's a D anyway), so we can have our semi-annual car talk session.
Have a safe drive and a Happy Thanksgiving!

If it's a '47 then it would be a "TC"... my dad had a right hand drive '47 TC and raced it at the first ever (for cars) race at California's Willow Springs in 1953. This was a one-time deal for my dad... the 19 inch wire wheels leaned so much it scared him.
I hope those guys are having a blast in the hills. It's a beautiful crisp and clear (65°) here in LA this morning, but they may have a little fog over by the beach. Wish I had a street car to play with.

Looks like a nice turnout, guys! Looks like there was quite a variety of cars there. We usually have a couple of bimmers and lotus' come out with us as well. Maybe some day we can have a norcal and socal combined drive in each area. That would be an amazing turnout; that is if our Alfas could make that long haul on I-5

You are correct. The MG is a TC. Spoke with my uncle today. He says he heard at an MG gathering that he attended last year (without the TC in attendence), that only about 50 MGTC's with thin chrome bumpers were imported to the U.S. that year. He's having an issue starting the car. Does anyone know of a TC, or general U.S. MG club? I'm hitting "the Google" after this.......
