Confused
Hi all
Top of this post lists the date of the event as the 28th but Sean's post says "see you tomorrow" Is this thing on for the 21st or the 28th?
Thanks
Chris

My thanks to both Larry's at APE for hosting todays event. I had a BLAST meeting everyone, talking up Alfas, and seeing all the wonderful cars. I was so glad to see Brian Shorey, Tom Sahines, and Jim Stevens all of whom I haven't seen for a while.
I did ok for parts. Sold some, bought some. Wife is happy now that I can get back to finishing her spider.
What she doesn't know is that she will have to be the one with the detail cloth this week on the 164Q to get it ready for the French Italian show next weekend

Sean
Unfortunatley, I broke down on the 237 by Milpitas. Blew my 50 amp fuse and thought I smoked my whole harness. I couldn't find my spare (funny because I always carry 2 of each). Ended up flatbedding back to my house and assessing the damage. Thankfully not too bad after all. Hopefully back on the road in a week or two. Guess I'll try for next year.

It was great to have the swap back again. Thanks to APE and ARA. These are my favorite events on the ARA calendar. I sold far more than I bought, so I count that as a good day.

I agree, I really enjoy this event...its pretty much the only one I go to really.
Oh, and I gave away more than I sold! In fact, it seemed as though people were freaked out when I told them a low low price on something ("how much do you want for this?" "hmm, a dollar..." guy looks at friend, whispers something about there must be something wrong with it.... )...at least I can fit my parts collection in my attic shelf space now, instead of out in the garage. Well worth the trip!

When I sell at the auto swaps, there are three catagories:
Free: 'I want it out a here!'
Almost free: 'Please take it if you can use it'
Not free: the good stuff, I'll keep it if it doesn't sell
This always freaks people out too!

swap meet
the swap meet was fun although personally, i was unable to unload the '67 veloce seats and some other parts i had. i was able to buy a real gta upper adjustable upper arms from larry jr., ti carpets and a really nice early valve cover from david p. and other bits and pieces from folks i have never seen in years.
michael (ara president) and his lovely wife came to visit me at my house yesterday to check out some gtv parts that i want to unload. he told me that they are trying to revive the alfa group. in the coming season, they will be more activities from swap meets, autocross, tours to who knows what else. that should be exciting! i say in addition, we should have historic hill climbs and rallys.

APE and ARA parts exchange
You guys make me so jealous. Such a long long haul from Seattle. Would you believe I considered going?
