Spider Alfa Romeo: una storia di emozioni allo scoperto

In occasion of the Spider Duetto 40th Anniversary and the arrival of the new Alfa Romeo Spider, Alfa Romeo decided to celebrate with a special event, "Spider Alfa Romeo- Emotions and History under the open skies".

This special event will offer a unique opportunity to learn about the history of the open Italian roadsters. 120 open cabriolets and spiders will express and demonstrate in true Italian colours the dedication that this Italian manufacturer had always have for the ultimate driving pleasure, freedom and the joy of living, and the relentless search and pursuit of design beauty and engineering excellence.

The programme wil start Saturday May 27th in the town of Senago at the splendid gardens of Villa San Carlo Borromeo. The cars will rally across the province to the center of Milano where they will be shown in Piazza Duomo. In the afternoon they will leave Milano for Orta San Giulio, the town to where part of the Alfa Romeo factory was relocated during the World War II and the next day the festivities will include a rally to the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese for a final car show and beauty contest.

The main reason for this celebration is still the 40th Anniversary for the Alfa Romeo Duetto, designed by Giovanni Battista (Pinin) Farina, a true classic with a subtle aggressive design that will be valid forever. This is one of the few models in Italian motoring history that lasted for almost 30 years in production (the last Spider Generation IV was made in 1994). It will be a rare opportunity to see rare models like the first Alfa 24 HP from 1910, 1750 SS and GS that have won the 1929 and 1930 Mille Miglia races, the elegant cabriolet 6C 2500 from the forties, Giulietta spiders and of course the Duetto from the sixties and spiders from the seventies.

An exceptional venue, a true feast based on the history of one of the most cherished car makers that always made and will always make every car enthusiast dream. There will also be an opportunity to test drive the new Alfa Romeo Brera, the 159 Berlina and Sportwagon. The venue which is organized by Alfa Romeo and sponsored by the City of Milan is sure going to be a true once in a lifetime event for every serious Alfa Romeo fan.
