The Glen
Terrific turnout and a great time, so far. A couple of "hard luck" stories, but everyone is pulling together and trying to get the folks who've had trouble back out. Delightful dinner and party Friday night at the Glen Club, with Ro Davenport speaking about his dad, Dick Davenport and some great stories from our honored guest, Horst Kwech.
In the GTV, GTA group, it was wild and wooly with Datsuns losing their oil and Porsches crashing into each other on the pace lap! (no great loss, vbg!) While Joe Nastasi and Nick Soprano reign supreme with their Tipo 33's, the fastest "production" cars are the 1750 GTV of Bernie Martinez, Jr., at a 2:18.5, Peter Stark in his father's GTV at a 2:18.8, Ceasar Cone in his Duetto at 2:22.1 and myself in the GTV at 2:22.2 (in my fourth timed lap of the weekend!?!?!) Mike Besic, (in his old Duetto completed the night before they left), Rod Beer and locals Steven Fog and Eliot Shanabrook are in the hunt as well.
This event though is much more than lap times. The camaraderie and the fellowship are terrific and we miss all those who couldn't make it.
More soon.

Nice shot Rob! It was quite a site to turn in to the parking lot and see all those Alfas lined up.
Fred, hurry up, I can't wait to see photos. I always bring my camera then end up leaving it in the trunk cause I'm too lazy to carry it around.
Peter, thanks for all of your work organizing the racing and for opening the banquet to us street guys. Hope you'll post up final results of Sunday's races.
What a weekend!!!

My personal highlight was seeing the reaction to Will Painter's engine failure. Probably a dozen people he had not met before helped find an engine, remove old one, replace with new one, and get back running by Saturday night.
I saw him comlpete the entire Alfa race, and then I had to leave.
That was sweet!

Still re-living driving the Spider on WGI and then thru the backroads and city streets of the old course. Bravo! to all who organized this spectacular weekend. Very cool to see so many cars and to meet up with old and new friends. The racing was great .. and the sound. I have a 30MB AVI clip of the Horst Kwech GTV (orange #3) starting up on Franklin Street. Music to the ears of many ..... here are a few shots as we wait for Mr. Bonatto's.
