Thumbs up Best of France & Italy November 1, 2009

Just check their website Best of France & Italy because I hadn't heard anything, and guess what? It's only 1 month and a few days away, I hope we can get a large Alfa contingent again this year.

I'll be there, I'll probably bring the GTA and my Giulia Spider this year. There are usually 75-100 Alfa's at the show (parking lot and display).

-Manuelalfaholic, Racer X and 101/105 Guy, what are you bringing?

Always the best show of the year. I'll be there with the GTV6, newly repaired after it's run in with an Escalade...

Paintless dent removal, FTW!

Parking similar cars together

Parking cars together, could be done.
With all of us arriving there over a 2 - 3 hr period it is difficult to make room for a late comer. The past 2 years we have had 85 - 100 cars parked on the grass so it is a lot of work to get them parked in rows, not too close together.
Our Concours guy, Doug, has taken it on get to Woodley Park early and to get cars parked. Of importance is putting the Concours cars together to make judging easier for us judges. (thats a laugh, ME a Coucours judge )
Also, I see Doug tries to put unusual Alfas out front so that they won't get overlooked.
I agree putting models together makes it easier to compare differences in year for the same model.
Any suggestions on how to make this happen???

Perhaps the first person to arrive with a particular model, let's say a Giulia Sedan, could help Doug by trying to save space for 6 or 7 others of the same type. Or, if that doesn't work, if we wanted to get a group photo, we could just move off to the side of the park before people start leaving.

I think Doug and Stefanie (sp) are going on the Wine Tour in 2 weeks so I will discuss these ideas with them. Should get some great solutions after a day of drinking and driving.
Keep on posting more ideas to make this deal work, with the least amount of hassle to all involved.

Each Alfa model could meet outside the entrance, then drive in together at a prescribed time that is communicated to all participants prior to the day of the event. Late-comers will simply have to park elsewhere.

I'm working on a group of Alfettas. Not sure where to park all 3 of us . . . . .
I think the idea of just meeting up outside the gate is the easiest way to make a group.
I suggest you plan to meet BEFORE 9am to make it easier to place you in 1 group and not split into 2 rows as things get more crowed.

For the first time since 2001 I will not be bringing my Duetto.

Instead this year will be the debut of my newly finished Giulia Super racer, one week after its track debut at the Buttonwillow TT.

The only question is do I park with the sedans or with the race cars ?

Sedans, of course! It's always a great juxtaposition: street vs. race.
