Excellent show! I think there were more Alfas there than any other marquee by far. Some of my favorites to add...

Tatra 600
A photo above was a Tatra 600. Real similar to the Tucker, made about the same time 1947/1948. Was one a copy of the other??
And about all those Tatras, I saw 3 (edit, Autoweek.com says there were 2) - I thought it was the Best of France and Italy. You let in 1 Chech Tatra and pretty soon the show will be taken over by all those Chech cars . . .
A great showing of local So Calif French and Italian cars. I got stuck judging our AROSC Concours again and did not get a chance to see many of the other cars. (Somebody else please volunteer your time and get me fired as a judge!!)

This is one of my favorite shows of all time. It was so relaxed and easygoing and everyone is so friendly. Best of all I got to see my first 8C up close and in person.

Here are a few of the photos that I shot. Wow, looking at my pictures in hindsight, I seem to have a bias toward 105's!
Another great Best of F&I - why did everyone leave so early?

Czech Tatras are nothing like Tuckers! The three headlights is about it for similarities, and that debuted on the T77 of 1934 - so if it was copied - Tucker was the one who copied Tatra.
Dr. Porsche also copied Tatra's engineering and designs:
"Ledwinka discussed his ideas with Ferdinand Porsche who used many Tatra design features in the 1938 Kdf-Wagen, later known as the VW Beetle. This is particularly evident when compared with the smaller T97 model which had a rear-mounted, air-cooled, flat-4 engine and rounded body styling. Tatra immediately started legal action, but the matter was not resolved until 1961 when Volkswagen was ordered to pay 3,000,000 Deutsche Marks in damages."

Tatras are amazing cars - with a great history, they should be welcomed at any car fancier's event in this country!

Lost at Best of France and Italy show
Urgent request: If anyone can help me find a blue bag with many photos loaned me by Jay on Sunday I would surely appreciate it. I left it on the grass near Stewart's car in the Alfa area. My home phone is 714 536 2951
Thank you. Norm Bergman

I had a great day this year. Brought the race Super instead of the Duetto. Had 3 out of 4 daughters with me. Met and got a pic with Jay Leno (and talked Supers with him as well), and won "Best Race Prepared" in the AROSC Concours !

Looking back, the only thing I didn't like is that the person who came with the 8C didn't park with the rest of the Alfa's. I didn't even know it was there until I looked some of the photo galleries online. It make look and sound like a Ferrari and Maserati but it says ALFA ROMEO on it! Wonder what his deal is?

Anthony, the 8C was probably directed to park in the 'feature area' by one of the organizers.
