HSR Sebring Historic Fall Classic Alfa Alley

The event is October 14-16, 2005 at Sebring International Raceway. A premier event of the HSR. There will be some alfas racing.

I just got off the phone with Sebring International Raceway and I have arranged for a ressurrection of "Alfa Alley", a corral which will be on the Midway, next to the BMW club. We will have space for about twenty-five alfa romeos, or otherwise nice cars. Its important to get the tickets in advance so that we can show that we will have a nice turnout to the Sebring management. Please let me know.

This is a prelude to the 12 Hours of Sebring race next march. We will have a corral for the first time in a decade! Again, we will have space for about twenty-five cars, fifty if the early registration is good. I have a preliminary commitment to be placed at turn one, which is just about the best place on the whole track. The Sebring management has been very supportive and wants the alfas back out there.

Please show your support for Alfa Romeo at Sebring, come out and show your car or cars to the public. Alfa has a long, prestigious history at the track, and it is the closest thing to Le Mans in the states. We will have group off track outings, parade laps on the historic track, and other fun events.

Yes! There WILL be an Alfa Romeo corral at both the 12 hours of Sebring and the October HSR Classic.

Again, if you have an alfa romeo, in any condition, or are a fan of alfa, please write and let me know. I will have discounted tix for both events and parking for select automobiles at the Corral. We will be at turn 17. Remember, as a ticket holder from the Alfa Corral, like the other Corrals, you get to drive on the parade laps, meet the drivers, enter the car show and more.

I will be contacting all alfa/fiat and ferrari clubs in the southeast region shortly. However, If you happen to be an officer of one of these clubs, please post a reply or send me an email. Ill get you all the information you need.

So far we have fifteen cars coming, mostly alfas but also an aston martin DB7 and a couple of ferraris.

Count me in for October. In the late seventy's, I used to park my Alfetta with the Tampa area Alfa Club. Real nice bunch of people. At Daytona this year my Spider was lonely. I started to park next to this silver car, but I did not want to show him up! Richard

Interesting that there will be for the first time historic stock cars running at Sebring. Should be very interesting as Sebring is a generally clockwise track and those cars have never turned right. Another highlight is the night historic racing, and of course the GTP class.

Just a reminder that the Sebring HSR Fall Historics are coming up soon. Alvin Zelcer and I will be your hosts at the Alfa Alley Corral. Weve got all kinds of fun things in store for you. If you can only make it for one day, come on saturday. The Parade lap and photo op on the track is going to be way cool.

Some of you have commented that you are not into the racing scene and the blue collar type atmosphere. Yes, Sebring is a beer and hotdog kind of place, but it can also be a caviar and champagne place too. Its what you make of it.

Preparations are underway for the Sebring HSR Fall Classic October 14-16.

We have received a sponsorship from the Florida Alfa Club and support from Delmas Greene. Bobcor is a major sponsor, and International Auto parts has donated some good alfa/fiat stuff to give away. There will be a 72 GTV racing as well as a 74 GTV and a couple of spiders. Feature races include night historic racing, historic stock car racing, GTP class, and the four hour gran prix.
