unfortunately it wasnt to be... a little while after this article Alfa decided that they wouldnt do anymore than supply the sprints (i think they even decided against selling it in their showrooms) and the guys making it couldnt afford to use the alfa componetry - so aside from the car in this article i believe all the subsequent cars used the GMH 5.0 v8 mated to the same gearbox. the donk would have had allot more power and torque but a 5k redline just doesnt seem right in an Alfa any way i think about 15 were made in the end - i think theres an aussie website about it all but i forget the address (google will bring it up). if i won lotto tommorow id track one down and buy it! - maybee put the gta 3.2 in it

Giocattolos fetch about $55k AUD these days. There was a nice example for sale about a year ago.

To see Tod Wilkes's (R.I.P.) modified Giocattolo I recommend this site: http://www.twinturbov8.com

There are a few more sites dedicated to them, but none as nice as his now destroyed one.

One usually runs around the tarmac rallies of Australia. Was driven by Adam Kaplan a few years bag in the Targa Tasmania in metallic blue.

I have seen three of these in the "metal" and they look and sound awesome. The Holden engine, whilst antiquated, isn't as bad as everyone makes out on these Alfa forums. I have not managed to blag a ride though.

Yeah I took a look in it when it was parked for the Targa Tasmania "show off" in Wrest Point. I can't remember whether it had the Bundy kit in it or not now.

The Judge was actually a Holden V8 Turbo Ute. The new Judge was the Giocattolo which he whacked two turbos onto.

There were only ever 15 of these cars built. Conceived by Paul Halstead and engineered by Barry Lock.
A mid-mounted 233kw (300HP) Holden HSV V8 engine was prepared by Walkinshaw and mated to a ZF transaxle like the ones used by the Detomaso Pantera's. Formulae 1 style suspension completed the business end of the car. The chassis was an Alfa Sprint and all the body panels were Kevlar and Carbon Fibre. The whole package weighed 1086Kg.

The precision and handling of the car is superb and acceleration is what you would expect from a combination like this. Factory performance figures have the car doing 13.5 sec ¼ mile times and 0-100kph in 5.4 secs. Later cars reportedly did 12.9 and 4.9 with the improved engines.
the JUDGE had 1000 rear hp dyno proven 850 hp before its tradgic crash at Eastern Creek raceway feb 2001.

And....the Queensland Police tested one (or maybe more) with a view to placing orders for highway patrol duties. Yet again it was not to be.
