Sprint wheels offset

Hallo, I am a newbie to this section. I bought a Sprint (1.5QV), which was rather a puzzle or as I call it "a Lego kit" As the fight against rust and minor accidents (body restoration) approaches the finish line I direct my attention to wheels and suspension.

I am tempted to buy Russian forged 'Slik' wheels (15' 4x98) but I am not quite sure about the offset (ET) - they come in 32 and 38 options. What is the original one - 35?

Even the greater temptation is to buy different offsets for front and rear axles. I have the crazy idea that putting the wheels with offset 32 mm at the front (AFAIR it means wider track than 38) and 38 at the rear it will improve the "understeering issue".

PS Criticism is welcome

N e way someone told me that the offset on sprints is 39... i was thinking of dropping it down as well but im not real sure if it will destroy th cars handling... i want to flair the wheel arches

The correct 0ffset is 39 and they are the same as alfettas and 75s . Complete numbers are 98x39x14 or 98x39x15 and tire 185x60x14 or 195x50x15 in order to have the same diameter...

I have just bought some used rims from a scrapyard that were on an 75 with dimensions 7jx38 so you are going to be ok with 38 also....

True, true - I have the same feeling. Just have a look at how the car was stored:

I guess I'll stick to 38... If the original offset is 39, 32 seems too much (guys told me that max 3mm difference with the original offset is acceptable in order not to overload the wheel bearing). But still - it will be a month or more until I get to the wheel purchasing
