Alfa33boxer

Hello to all you Alfa maniacs!
I just prepared my little 33 for the summer and changed filters, oil (Selenia 10w40) and spark plugs (BERU 4 electrodes).
After…, the car runs smother, feels lighter, accelerates better, has a better fuel burning and normally the fuel consumption has gone down.
But after all this I got a problem, a problem that is making me suffer a lot in traffic. Sometimes is impossible to put the first gear in… (God, I hate when the gear makes that noise…). Sometimes is just fine. I have the same problem when shifting down the gears specially the 3d gear is impossible to put in going back from the 4th!!!??? It doesn’t have problems when shifting up.
So, where is the problem in my 33, what do you think?

thanks in advance
best,
Elvis

Bleed clutch/check clutch fluid/faulty slave or clutch master cylinder or worst case scenario the fingers on your pressure plate are starting to wear through or clutch plate is worn.

Best check the hydraulics for your clutch first.

I think, maybe.

For 1st gear, it probably does it when you go from neutral to 1st. Try going towards 2nd or 3rd first (before going to 1st)

For 4th to 3rd double clutching should give the syncros the more time they need.

Hi, it’s me again!

Going toward 2nd to the 1st gear doesn’t make any noise. I should try the double clutching from 4th to 3rd, maybe it helps.
The full clutch set and the pressure plate was replaced 8-9 months ago so I don’t think the pressure plate is worn. I checked for any leak but everything looks ok. Both slave and master cylinders were replaced after the clutch was replaced.
What else can cause the problem that I’m having? Maybe something in the gearbox???

Clutch bearing is worn ….so most probably that is causing the problem.
cheers,
Elvis
