hey mate, im starting to do some performace mods on my 85' 33 4wd wagon, running the 1500 carb boxer, i.ve noticed that its getting starved of fuel at higher revs, carbies are gettin re built, i just wanted to know what fuel pump you're using....

It sounds wonderful and seems pretty quick. How do you go with the torque steer though? They can be a bit of a handful with a stock 1.7 8v carby engine. Great fun though!

I drove a 1.7 ie, crazy torque steer! How do you deal with it at 147hp?

@ blacknight: I,m using a Pierburg universal feulpump for my
champagne coloured 33 (170hp)
For my red 33 (147hp) its a Facet feulpump.

@ oz3litre and GTVnut: If you look at the acceleration video
(the first one) you can see that with 147 hp the torque steering
is not that bad, only on a very wet road things get ugly
I,m not sure how my 170hp 33 is going to be
(did only one test drive) but i will find out soon

The 16v doesn't deliver torque the same way as the 8v.

My 8v was crazy for torque steer, but the 16v isn't anywhere near as worse.

Might be a different story with carbies though

and +3 bar with warm engine also @1500rpm

and mounted 15" momo rims:

here are some pictures of the oils and coolant that i used:

Most of the torque steer problems in the boxer Alfas seem to be due to the fact that the rear springs are too soft, resulting in way too much 'squat' under acceleration.

One racer I spoke to said his torque steer disappeared when he fitted much stiffer rear springs.

M Janson. What are the other Mods, I am getting the tail end of a 1.7 8v rebuild for hillclimb use, 16v are like hens teeth in Western Australia.
