God that sounds hot.

It's like my car on the most expensive steroids money can buy... The pickup in 2nd gear is just incredible!

Does it have the standard 16v ratios?

lenus.

had std elbows on for only one day, dont know about diffrence in performance but
it sure had a less cool sound.
we found out while testing my red 33 carbs (on a dyno)that the standard elbows
work a bit the same as trumpets, without the elbows the engine had about 4 hp less.
(so the std elbows improves airflow to)

1.7 16v boxer on carbs

I would be interested to know, what size chokes and jets you are using in these carbs, i am assuming these carbs are 40 idf carbs? Also what are you using to control the timing ? The reason i ask is i have done the same on my alfa sprint, see picture below. thanks lee

hi,

yes i have 40 mm carbs with 32 chokes, dont know the jet size have to look for that.
i,m getting myself some 34 chokes soon.
i recomend strongly to get your car on a dyno for timing of ignition and carbs!
if engine runs lean on feul your engine will die, if timing of ignition is not good
pistons can die to!and it will get max hp out of your engine(see my 147hp 33).
(i had one 1.5 engine that died like that after 5000 miles or so)

What we found was with the extra valve area of the 16v the engine had a much stronger vacume signal (pulls more fuel through at idel jets) we over came this by putting .45 idel jets in rather than the standard 8v .50 jets.this allowed cleaner burn and better drivability low down the rev range, ie more power. I olso am using 32mm chokes max power@6200 revs, due to the choke restriction(air flow restriction), 34mm chokes will give you more top end power ideal for track use, and if you like full throttle.but you will loose out in driveability and torque. does your car idel well in traffic? I would be really interested to know what jets air bleeds mains and emulsion tubes you arre using. thanks
