Must have been pretty bad rust wise to do that looks like you saved some of the car.

This was around 1994, it was given to me by a friend.
Drove from the middle of NSW to the Gold Coast to pick it up, dragged a trailer all the way there and back.
When we got there it was a rusted out piece of junk and someone had jumped on the roof to make matters worse.
I decided to bring it back anyway and use the mechanicals to make a rear engine clubman.
When I got home I just cut the front end off and took the body to the tip.
I originally wanted to put a V8 in the back of the sprint like the Giocattalo, a friend has one and I have had the pleasure of driving it on a few occasions, what a car.
The rust in the sprint was so bad I don’t think it could have been repaired, well if it was the last one left in the world it might have been worth doing.

I've seen a 33 dash in a sprint before. I think it's not very nice.

Thumbs up re 33 dash

Been thinking about the dash and have decided to keep original dash would be better for resale value anyway.

May as well add my bit too,

I know what you mean about the Bertone, everyone would like one I guess but the Sprints are lovelly cars and at least if you have owned yours for a while you know what needs doing.

I had rust work done on mine as I cant weld etc. I think it is worth it if you can find an old school restorer in a little shop somewhere who has the patience and pride in his work to do it without charging you the moon. Shop around and google under restoration etcc. I found guys who did a great job for half the money the flash operators in the big places with fancy waiting rooms. And e-bay is great for parts.

Having had my Sprint I'm biased too but I thhink its worth keeping too.

Paolo

I have the exact sprint , even in the color (white) and from what i can undertstand 96 -87 models didnt have great problems of rust. So it is worth restoring them aince they are evn more rare that gtv or alfetas and much more fun to drive... Also using the same mechanical parts as 33 it is much cheaper and easier to maintain....

I love sprints. Clean, simple lines, mostly simple engineering and awesome handling.....
