It is a matter of opinion, but I tend to think the 33's and Suds don't need a strut brace. They already have one by default from the factory! The split engine compartment means that the strut towers are linked. I think a strut brace is overkill and unnecessary. You'd be better off seam welding around the strut towers for increased strength to the already good setup.

Plus I think strut braces are only for inadequately designed rice burners....

I agree
Struts are linked with the firewall and a strutbar wouldnt make difference worth of money paying for it.
Bigger problem with 33-sud is that the whole front flexes and twist.
I will link c pillar on each side with the strut with some 2 inch tube and make stonger links (two tubes that are bolted on the left and right side of the engine) from the strut to front crossmember (i dont know all the right terms, sorry for my english)

actually sud77 was quite complete. I would think a strut bar is not totally redundant. The fire wall is think, but the shocks tower mount is not exactly rigid. But by welding it it should add rigidity. But I kindda would avoid heat on an Alfa body.

I personally don't mind a flexing front for more traction.

I wouldn't say they are totally necessary, but if you want one, why not?

They are not expensive, I purchased an adjustable OMP brace for my Sud for just over $100. Haven't installed it yet.

You can get them directly from OMP or some of the better parts suppliers can also get them ordered in. Revolution Racegear is one place which comes to mind, i'm sure others will pipe up with other known sources.
