Engine Component Lightening

Here are my con-rods. 67g off each, mainly from the counter weights and top bottom balanced. Considering shot-peening but will go without if too expensive.




My pistons. After dismantling various >10 year old engines, the bottom friction lines are very much intact. Most wear occur near the bottom ring. And also the wrist pis are located higher than 8V pistons which are of similar height. 13g off each piston.





This is my project and I'm not suggesting it's something you should do. But I will update on reliability and performance. All comments welcome.

HHMMM i was just thinking about doing this to mine too as im really close to the build process on the sud, any info would be sweet
