40mm or bigger

Just curious but does anyone have or know someone who would be willing to sell a set of 40mm or bigger carbies for a 33 1.7??

Considering the Autodelta Suds had 44 Idf's on smaller capacity engines...more fuel and air cant hurt...Id go 44's.....

You need a set of these puppies...


Oh and out of interest, didnt your 1.7L come with 40's? Mine had 36's which I think were from someone previous to me swapping them...

The bigger the carb the bigger the cam and port job you'll need to get the most out of it I reckon. Are you going to install Columbo Borianni cams? I can possibly obtain the original Autodelta cam profile which you could use to have a custom set made. The Autodelta profile is designed for the 44IDFs.

a 40mm will have outright performance benefits over a 36mm only if it has larger chokes (venturies) fitted, which normally is not the case.
44's probably be the go

check on some serie 3 33 with a 1.3, mine has 40's on it and from the factory.
