The Nolathane bushes at the rear shouldn't be too much of a a problem as long as you are doing reasonably regular maintenance checks, and know to look for any sign of cracking. There is certainly the potential there though. Although my 33 race car has done 4 race seasons without an issue, another similar car in the same category has had one let go in a race. (He was wondering why it was cornering better one way than the other.) Now I always carry a pair of spare links to the track just in case! :-)

Love to hear how the car goes when you hit the track

Cheers

Thanks mate, yes the regular checks are a must with these things. Oh yes i just bought the 1.7 twin carb with 1200 gearbox, driving it home tonight

Suds Rock!

Hi Michael love what you are doing with the Sud. I'll be interested to know how you set up the suspension, as I'm at that stage now. I'm having problems keeping the power to the ground at takeoff and hard lowspeed acceleration. Maybe stiffer rear springs are required? I do have lower stiffer Kings all-round with Bilstein shocks.
By the way I'm the proud owner of your Dad's old sprint race car motor in my road going Sud, with custom injection... There is a pic below incase you remember seeing it.

Cheers!

Very nice mate, good to hear from you too. Car looks good too, i would personally bring the front down as much as you can too it does help lowering the centre of gravity.

1981sud, where did you manage to find bilsteins? They seem so hard to come by for suds Hopefully you have discovered a source?

Hi Spooty22, I'm afraid I don't have a source for the bilsteins! My Dad bought this car from new in '81, and soon after he bought the shocks from someone in the S.A Alfa club.
By the way I do have a spare set of front adjustable yello Konis with shortened struts if anyone is interested. They have recently been re-built too.

Sorry to hijack your thread michael....

Hey Justin, yeah the Fiats going well but slowly. Ive striped it right down and am now pretty much just assembling some parts until I finish uni for the year in a few weeks then I'll get stuck into it. Seems every time I go work on it the plans get bigger, but it will all happen in time. Ive got Lotus Elises in my sights and want to be faster than them up Collingrove, so that what im working towards!!

Nah its a custom made bolt in actually was my dads old one (long story), and yea the belts are using the seat belt bolt points, the ring bolts just screw in easy as. and if you have a street car you can replace the bolts with those bolts so you can just clip the harness in without removing the lap sash.
