Aussie Boxer Thread
Ok everyone, I think its high time we had a thread for all the Aussies with Sprints, Suds and 33's. This will be the thread where we can share our experiences and pics relating to finding, driving and maintaining our rides. What will be particularly useful is sharing of places where we can find parts and/or people in our local areas who know how to maintain and tune our little fun machines. Pics of our projects, both in progress and completed as well as reports of great mechanical service, and which shonky operators posing as Alfa mechanics to avoid, could be of great benefit to all of us. This would also be a great place to sell and buy the parts we need from others!
Cheers!

Just bought an 86 Sprint...off ebay... AU$305 ... so have a lot of work ahead.
All runs well... needs some front end work... and will do timing bet etc... just to be sure...
Floor of the boot is Rusted out due to battery acid... but otherwise...rust is only in front wings ...and on the rear window mechanism... so weld in a new boot floor... and off we go... yippee.
I am a 105 owner... this is for my son reeelleee....but fun for mee tooo...
Parts seem to be very scarce... may have to snap up another oldie for parts... when one turns up.

Sprint/Sud Wheel Alignment
I need to get a wheel alignment done on my Sprint. Is this difficult, or can you go down to Bob Janes and get it done on a normal alignment machine. I have heard different advice, some good and some bad. Suggestions?................

I don't see why a local tyre shop (a decent one) couldn't do a wheel alignment. The only trouble they may have is undoing the tie rod ends so they can make the necessary adjustments.

It is the same as any other car. Be carefull though not to change the camber of the wheels because it is normal for the sprint to have negative...

Keep a keen eye on who ever is taking your tie rod ends off, they are generally pricks of things if havent been off for a while, and you sometimes find the 'experts' with a hammer attending to it...
