I don't know him but there is a pretty impressive German mechanic ( maybe late 50's) trained on ALFA's in Italy that now mainly works out of a double garage in Wentworthville Sydney. I only know him as Tony but he has worked for every ALFA dealer in Sydney till they went away for a while (ALFA not him).
I have been up there (got the speedo drive and lots of advice from him) and he has an impressive VERY crowded workshop and always has a few engine rebuilds for people on the go. I am told he is very good and quite cheap. He has strong views though! I will see as I am considering getting him to actually put my new engine in and hooked up etc. Have no idea how a twin carb hooks up!
regards
Paolo

I also had a moment on my 33 when a kangaroo jumped out onto the left hand corner of it! I need a new bumper, headlight and indicator, plus i also have fender and bonnet damage. I blame those dam dim lights!!! i knew i would eventually pay the price for the candlelights! Here are a couple of pics of my little Alfa.

Conorso get together?
Hello all,
As I'm sure many of you know, The AROCA NSW Concorso D'Eleganza is on in Sydney on 29 July. I usually go along, in fact I entered my car in the "show and shine" category and came 2nd and 3rd recently, mind you there were only about six of us in the combined sprint/ sud/ 33 category.
I thought as some of us on this BB are in NSW and obviously pretty keen on our ALFA's it might be a good opportunity to arrange to meet up.
Anyone interested?
I was sort of planning to put mine in the show and shine category again (show off the new seats) except that the other night I decided to check out a couple of bubbles under the paint in the bottom of that panel in front of the back wheels...sprint owners know the one I'm sure. After ten minutes of pen knife investigations there are now three holes the size of ten cent pieces!! Oh the pain. If i get it fixed properly or do a temporary patch and paint I'll enter it still, but will go anyway, so keen to catch up for a snag and beer with anyone going.
regards
paolo

I was there last year and counted 5 boxer alfas in the carpark! Almost as many as were entered. There was one nice blue series 1 sud.
I actually asked if I could show my QV but apparently you have to be an AROCA member to display So I'll have to hurry up join so I can show off my nice silver QV this year. I think it will come second, right behind the astonishing red QV
Would be good for the boxer drivers to meet on the day. I'm in.

You're right about membership. You do need to be a member to enter . The only real reason I have stayed a member is insurance. The club always has deals with a broker for cheap comprehensive insurance.
Glad to hear that their were more boxers last year. Will look forward to seeing them and any of you guys who come along.
regards
Paolo

Here's a pic of a Ti from Queensland. Had the pleasure of speaking with the owners at an Alfa Romeo Club meeting earlier this year.
BTW, they are looking for a dashboard for a S1, so if anyone can help them, please contact me and I will try to find them!
I have posted pictures of my own before, but couldn't resist the temptation of posting another one. Even though it is in Denmark

Nice pics Oelholm! wow a series 1 dashboard! Im sure they are getting harder and harder to find, especially here in Australia. I managed to get an ok one from a wrecker a few years back, with the usual cracks on the top. My old one was a disaster, the top was lifting from the structure, beyond repair. Currently getting mine upholstered in black leather, should look quite nice.
There seems to be a lot of added Chrome on that red series 1 ti, standard?
Cheers Josh.

- Well, I knew it wouldn't be easy, just thought I would drop a line on their behalf
The red Ti is actually Orange! It might be the camera's fault... Anyways, I am in no position to comment on it's originality, being 16,000 km away from it! That said, I cannot see what shouldn't be original?

Being 16,000kms away is probably a good reason for not knowing the details! The weather where you are must be getting just about right to take the Alfa for a spin...what better way to spend time than in your Alfa Sud in Europe during summer... A real time warp car you have!
Now that u mention it, it is Orange, so 70's but so right for the car.
