What would be REALLY, REALLY useful would be links or information to the ORIGINAL Trofeo series, and importantly specifications of the cars.

I, for one, know that the gearboxes were close ratio specials ... but try as hard as I like I could not purchase one. It appears that faxes do not work in Italy, etc.

Gearboxes on these things are weak and thus a proper race box with useful ratios would be a major plus.

All we seem to see are pictures of these cars ... but they were effectively factory race cars, thus where are all the special parts!

87Sprint, that Trofeo site appears to have nothing to do with the original series and all the information (articles, etc.) are simply written by people currently modifying their Suds ... we are all reinventing the wheel to some degree as surely we should start at the proper Trofeo specifications and go from there. I'm sure the factory could teach us all a thing or 2 about how to make their cars go faster

Unhappy Another pic

i know about www.alfasudtrofeo.com, and it has some good information, but not much about the real trofeo sud. But that is maybe hard to become, exept for these picture's.

The real (old) sud trofeo would not be faster as current alfasud build with the parts now available, like the 16V engine and better tire's
I prefere the 8 valve engine

But who knows where al the special parts went? I've found one thing.... the Autodelta spoiler kit. I bought it at a exhibition and realy don't know the name of the guy or company. But it looks good!!

I'm still building the car, and want to convert it in to a 4x4 that i have from a 33 of 84. Ideas enough!!

So who knows something about the rear stabilysor from the Alfasud Trofeo?
It is not on the picture.

Arnold

Your picture is from a Alfasud Sprint Trofeo! Every thing is the same except the cage, windows and spoilers.

I thought it where Campagnolo wheels?

How wide are those wheels?

I am lucky enough to have a set of Autodelta intake manifolds and the original matching Weber 44IDF's and linkage assembly. Unfortunately, no trumpets (look at the size of them in that picture!), or the cam shafts. Does anyone have the Alqati camshaft specs that came with the kit? I'm guessing they aren't very social - probably don't come on cam until over 4000rpm. Also does anyone have any specs on the pistons that were supplied with the kit?

BTW, none of what I've mentioned above is forsale!

I came across someone selling an Alfasud with a broken timing belt. The seller clamed it was a "modified" car and had an Autodelta sticker on the back. It certainly did, so I snapped up his asking price rather rapidly. Upon dismantling the car, we found the Autodelta manifolds and 44IDF's. Suspension is Koni yellow all round with lowered stiffer springs. Was such a cool find!

Apparently at least one Autodelta Trofeo kit came to Australia in the early 80's, and someone had all the gear put on an Alfasud that was streetable. It was soon realised that the cams were way too wild, and with the huge wheels difficult to move around in city traffic. Bits were seperated, and I got one car that was made streetable, the other stuff is on another sud which has never been driven since new. It was stripped and had replica fibreglass arches put on, together with the Autodelta struts and wheels. The car is still sitting in a workshop to this day unfinished, with a hot 8 valve motor ready to go in set up with dry sump and fuel injection. I have no idea of the whereabouts of the original car that the kit went on initially. As the car changed hands, people took more and more bits off, and I got was left and finally disposed of the rusty/damaged shell. Someone else got the seat, someone else got the cams, the fire extinguisher is sitting on someone's desk as paperweight etc

Please don't ask me where the unfinished 'sud it is, that information is locked up tight

Another lucky find was a front spoiler - similar to the Autodelta, but not the same. I'll post pictures of it shortly. My brother and I have plans to make a fibreglass copy to put onto our cars, keeping the original intact. If anyone wants a copy, we may offer them if there is some interest. I probably won't get around to making a copy for at least 12 months though as I'm tied up with a stupid amount of other projects (more work and than Alfa related unfortunately!).

The Speedline are 8" x 13".

There were two different camshafts used. The early ones were used till 1982, they had 10,95 mm lift, IO 53°, IC 75°, EO 75°, EC 53°, with 0,40/0,45 mm valve clearance.

The later cams after 1983 had 11,4 mm lift, 44°/69°, 69°/44° with 0,50 clearance.

There's some good information here: http://alfasud.alfisti.net/trofeoe.html

Yep trofeoalfasud.com is just a couple of enthusiasts here in Melb that are running our own points trophy to try to resurrect some interest in the Sud and Sprint as club racing cars. At some point in the future I'd like to turn my '77 Ti into a bit of a replica of the Trofeo cars, however. I've located a set of replica wheelarch extensions and front spoiler to duplicate, which is a start...
