Alfa Club tech workshop on Boxer motors (SA only)

Sorry for the late notice, but on Wednsday night (tomorrow night) there is a Alfa club of south Australia tech workshop on boxer powered cars.

There will be the famed (or infamous) Boxer powered Sirius race car (without the supercharged motor sadly.....it uh blew up) a Alfa sud 1200 powered dirt race car and a half finished Gulia Super 2L tarmac rally car (I know, not boxer powered). Also there will be a talk and display on Electronic fuel injection, looking at the Delco 808 EFI system and adapting it to Alfas....

I should have got round to telling the folk in Adelaide on this forum sooner but it sorta slipped my mind

The tech workshop is being held at:

Sirius Track and Road Technology
Unit 3, 14 Barndioota Rd Salisbury Plain
Contact Ph: 82831970
Cost: $4 (for supper)

Be there around 7:00ish! Its not strictly boxers, any Alfa nut is welcome to attend

Wonderful night, around 40 people showed up!

I managed to get the Delco EFI system running with a un-modifed Alfa 33 distributer (unsure which type, I found the distrubter in my spares box!) on the electronics bench. It made for quite a nice dispay.

Bob Tembe, gave us a talk on his Alfa Sud 1200 powered off road buggy. Quite a nice machine!

Lloyd Clonan the owner/designer of the Sirius race car went through his car, and talked about his hopes and proposed powerplant changes to his car (2.5 Litre V6 or supercharged boxer?) and a quick rundown of the cars history. He also talked about the Sirius 7 Clubman, which is not Alfa powered. A link to a review of this car by a online mag is here

http://autospeed.drive.com.au/cms/A_2176/article.html <-- if the link doesn't work!

Also there was a very nice supper on Good stuff!

The two pics of the buggy and the Sirius and the Buggy didn't come out well but I got one of the EFI Dispaly with the Alfa 33 distributer running thw whole show

And another general photo......I think the flash on the digital camera died!

We are orginiseing another night within the net few months, hopefully with a bit more technical content than the one we just had. I'll keep you posted this time
