Hey Kack,
In my sud, it's wired up as Solid Pink goes to the ignition and pink/white is fuel pump or in my case fuel pump relay, but I think the loom already has this provision?
I also got my ignition power from the ignition switch and run a new wire, but you should be fine running it from the coil.
I think I ran a separate wire due to issues trying make it run. The problem turned out out to be, that in the sud the wires on the coil are reversed to how they are on the 16v. So if you colour matched the coil nothing happened! It might be the same in an earlier 33, but if you can't get it to start you could add that to your list of things to troubleshoot!
Also, you should be able to use any coil, I don't see any controllers like with electronic ignition and no wire joining the dizzy to the coil. The only thing is the dizzy needs to be in the right orientation to start. And the coil is somehow controlled by the ECU - I think. It's all beyond me but I know how to get my 16v's running now .
Hope this helps and I was't too vague!
- Lenny

cheers Lenny,
exactly what i was after, if i attach the pink to the green black (i think) ignition feed to the coil it should work.
th coil must have constant ignition power and earthed through ecu to provide spark at the right timing.
Ive got a bosch gt40 coil will give that a go.
thanks for your help
kack

Hi again
Nice job on the aluminium pulley.
I am using the standard 16v fuel pump. I think its a Bosch, so availability shouldnt be a problem.
Also thought it worth mentioning FYI the fuel pump electrical supply is switched on by the ECU ONLY when the engine is turning, so if your crank angle sensor isn't plugged in she ain't starting ! Don't expect to hear the pump when you turn the key on !
:-)
Cheers & good luck

I have a spare set of headers up here in Brisbane...
Have the p4 headers as well, if you want a really wicked noise getting some p4 headers copied for your car would be the go! I can measure them up for you and stuff if you like, they are some wackily designed headers..

Hey there,
the throttle linkage is on passenger side of vehicle for 16v whereas the carby motor is on drivers side
Did you modify throttle linkages or did yout use 16v accellerator cable?
cheers

Hi again,
I used the 16v accelerator cable, with the bits & pieces that came with the 16v It fitted in OK after a bit of fiddling around. Let me know if photos would help.
Sounds like you are making progress - keep going !
:-)

p.s. I have just put rear disks on my race 33. Just sorting out the hydraulic handbrake arrangements.... Here's hoping for a firm pedal and a quick pull-up !
