My machinist I use for all my cyl head and general engine work through my workshop is able to spin them up. I think any good engineers shop should be able to take care of this.

The answer is a fair bit...the reason is it sits loosely in a splined sleeve with a small loosely fitting pin through it to keep it from falling out. So, your 'box is fine!

Either custom made or a Series 3 16v manifold - the factory manifold is actually very very good to begin with and most exhaust places will struggle to improve on it. A crossover manifold is another custom option however this probably more relevant for the race track.

ok lads,
engine is mounted, will start wiring her up tonight, all going well should be able to get her going next couple of days.
still chasing a set of exhaust headers though
where in aust does everyone get suspension bushes, seems to be that everyone i try cant supply them all.
Oh yeah and to ignite an old argument, do i go rubber or a harder compound like nolathane.

Bush source
Try Alfa Service in Germany, according to their on-line shop they seem to have the original rubber original bushes for both Alfasuds and Alfa 33s. from memory their website is Alfa-Service.
Hope this helps...
BTW, I have urethane on all bushes on my 'Sud. Good for handling, though I suspect that road noise is increased.

Hi again
With the suspension bushes, I'd put polyurethane in the front without question, but in the back, I'd pause and think a wee bit first.
I have seen a couple of cars with poly bushes in the rear, crack the circular part of the link arm where the bush is inserted. For that reason I went poly in the front but I have left the rubber in the rear of the road 33. My race car is all poly, I have had no problems over 6 seasons with it, but I do keep an eye on it.
The local suspension shop in NZ ordered the bushes in for me, so can't assist with an Aussie source. I think they might have been Superpro brand
Cheers

Hope all goes well with your wiring Kack
I'm planning on fitting a 16V to one of my Sprints so all the info here has been useful - did you get a machined front pulley?

Dave 33, what ignition coil are you running? I didnt get one with the gear i bought.
Do you know if theres an aftermarket option?
As far as i can see on the wiring diagram there is no ignition module like the 1.5l
is this correct?
engine in and wired up. need to tidy up a bit though, previous owner was a butcher.
waiting on crank pulley to be finished. need to source coil and exhaust
super pro bushes ordered and cheap to
that will have to be it though for this week, need to do some prep on the alfetta gtv for sprint next week
cheers

Hi again,
I have been using the standard 1.7 8V coil, and have not had any issues so far. I know they are different part numbers, and I suspect someone else on the board will know exactly what the difference is and how much it matters.( if it does )
Once you plug everything into the right place on the engine, the number of wires you need to worry about is actually rather small.
The big black & big red wires, go to earth & battery, white to coil and the all important two pin connector with the pink & pink/white wires. One of those takes a feed from the ignition circuit to the ECU, the other is the power feed to the fuel pump. (Cant remember which is which from memory, but happy to check if needed) There are a few vacant sockets on the loom that don't seem to be doing anything. If you have any concerns about any aspect I can do a photo if you need to sort it out.
Great to hear it's progressing well !
You'll love the extra surge from the 16v, its a nice sharp engine. :-)
All the best
David

Hi david
Could you check those pink, pink/white wire for me. I have looked through all the wiring diagrams i could find but they all seem to be a dead end at this socket.
where did you hook into ignition on yours?
