factory sprint seats

hello - i was wondering if anyone could tell me if the factory seats in the sprint (later models) are actually recaros, such as in the gtv and gtv6, or are they some sort of alfa copy? in the near future i want to either get mine repaired or transplant them with some after market ones - knowing if they are recaros helps in determining what rails i need or have to adapt etc...

on a more local note does anyone know of a reasonable ($) auto trimmer in adelaide? the few ive rung want around 700$ each seat for a complete retrim

im still not sure on the best course of action....

cheers -lucas

Alfa copy I think or were in mine. Consider sourcing recaros from a 33 16v they should have matching green check to the sprint.... may also bolt straight up as most mechanicals do

Regards

i have thought of this and i have also seen genuine recaros from other model cars for sale on ebay - problem is that i dont want to pay a decent amount of dosh for something that isnt like brand new... and i doubt there are many decent ones around here (not like in the uk..)

Problem is that the 33 P4 that came with racaro's as standard, we only got 58 of the suckers out here, and they are, uh, commanding quite a price...think 10-14grand!!!!

My impossible search continues........(for a P4 that is, its either that or nothing)

The other 1.7 16v Green Leaf come with "normal" seats......

Yeah, the p4's are quite rare.

whats worse, is that there is 58 in the country, and 58 of them are still registered. which means no second hand parts are in this country...

another bad thing is, although they sell for $10-$12 when they sell. Insurance companies don't see this, and they go by redbook price of $5.5 - 6.5. Which is the unfortunate situation my bro is in, where he got his car written off by getting his stereo stolen....

But they're such a great car. they just stick to the road unlike any other alfa.... I own an alfasud, and when i have to follow him, all i can do is laugh at the ridiculous speeds he goes around corners.

The other problem with the 33 Recaros is that they are designed for a 4-door and do not have a tilt forward mechanism required for a 2-door. The runners are the same however.

I know this as I have recently sold a pair on eBay.
