Handbrake now fully mounted and bracket made and mounted for the front of the gearchange rods - so little jobs that take lots of time being done......

More jobs being done!
The oil cooler is now plumbed in.
The 75 mm x 25mm box section will be going inside the new sills to provide additional reinforcement.
The rear shelf from the 164 will provide the speakers and improve the inner apearance.

That oil cooler is not going to be that much good hidden behind a wall with no or very little air flow.

I love this idea and have pretty similar idea but have to say that your execution of it is not very well thought out. You should have built a custom tube frame for the back half that can support the engine instead of welding in the front of the old 164. Im pretty sure their are not many people who think about putting a v6 in the back of a sprint or any Alfa but I would take some references from other vehicles that this has been done successfully.

Take this Golf that has a complete roll cage and a subframe that holds the engine mounts.

This Golf that has a vr6 in the hatch also.

If you go through the build thread on this car, there are lots of pictures of the engine frame being built and you can see how strong it is.

Thanks Romeo85
There is a large gap in front of the oil cooler between the 164 subframe and the Sprint cross member - I want a large volume of air circulating in the engine bay and it will exit through additional rear vents and spoiler into the low pressure zone at the rear. If it does get too hot then I can move the cooler to the front later. Also it is a limited use road car Not a race or rally car.
I know about building a full tube roll cage/chassis but wanted to use as much Alfa as possible and my way keeps all the alignments for the suspension/engine/gearbox assembly. The 6C photographs that I have seen do not show much detail but there was not a full tube chassis in them - also most cars are made with monocoque construction and, with this engine location, it is now in a much more central position with the loads shared to the rear "C" pillar as well as to the central "B" pillar region. In the 164 and Sprint all the loading had to go through the "A" pillar and front bulkhead.
I actually have spent quite a lot of thought about this project.....I cannot pour pots of money into this project and it is being made in my garage - not a workshop - by me!-- this is the challenge and the satisfaction.
Latest pictures attached.

Further progress as I now have two replacement sills. I can now take off the old rusty ones, install the reinforcing box section and the new sills.

Hi dmetal
Here's a pic of the rear view - I couldn't resist using some of the 164 boot letters! - now to find a "C"

Im a big fan of cars which are wolf's in sheep's clothing (Ie my mums sud with Alfasud L badge's on it, except its got a 1600 and racing suspension), not to say the sprints are soft but 1.3 badge's would be great!!!

Hi dmetal
I agree about wolf in sheeps clothing - but with the extra width in the rear the sheep still looks like a wolf!!
I also have a little frogeye Sprite - fitted with a 3.5 Rover...and that left a Very surprised 911 Porsche amongst others!

Hi Hughjinjin
I got the sills from Steve Parry (Motormania) in South Shields England - He's well known and respected in Sud/Sprint circles.
