1986 Alfa(sud) Sprint Parts Sourcing

I need to purchase a variety of mechanical restoration and overhaul parts for my 1986 Sprint QV 1.5 (it's the only one in the States).

I have been trying to contact Phill at JustSuds (in Lincolnshire, UK) for several weeks, writing emails and leaving phone messages. I am getting no response. Is he really in business?

I am in Portland, Oregon and obviously have no local sources for any 'Sud parts on this side of either pond.

Do any of you have suggestions for sources of parts in the UK, or downunder (Oz/Kiwiland) or in Italy (I do speak/read/write Italian)?

I anticipate needing engine and tranny O/H stuff mainly (seals, gaskets, possibly bearings and bushes).

Cheers,

Doug Z.

parts

Wow - i didnt realise there were any sprints in the U.S ! did you import it yourself? anyway here is a link to the supplier page from the aussie alfa club page. two of the best places for what your looking for are 'turin imports' and 'the spare place' - both in the south australia bit...
btw post some pics of your sprint and zagato!

heres the link http://www.alfaclub.org.au/supplier.htm

Info on Yank Sprint

Im not sure how this car came to be in the States... About eight years ago it was for sale on a city street corner here in downtown Portland. It originally had California tags on it, circa 1986/7 (as a new car in Calif?) It was exiled from California to Seattle to a car auction in 1996, and ended up here in Portland shortly thereafter. It is now registered here in Oregon with custom tags honoring Sig. Giugiaro: "NOT A VW"

It's a riot to drive, and is in excellent condition, save for these engine/tranny issues. There is an '84 Sprint (true 'Sud) in the Northeast (street legal in Mass), and it's rumored that there are a couple of true 'Suds in Wisconsin (track cars). If I can get the parts in time to complete the engine and tranny work, I will be driving it down to Monterey this August for the Concorso Italiano, which this year is featuring Alfa Romeos.

Doug,

Try in Australia they should have some parts. also if you need anything specific you can write me a PM and I will try to help. The only thing I remember having on the shelf at the moment for this car is a new old stock water pump, but I might find some more stuff if I look around.

sud sprint parts

Doug,

I too have had difficulty in contacting Justsuds.

An alternative in the U.K. (who does answer the 'phone) is a gent called Steve Parry, who is based in the North East and can be contacted on telephone number +441914561511

all the best,

Hi Doug,

I remember your excellent Sud Sprint selling at the South Seattle Auto Auction a few years ago. I checked it out very carefully and I almost bought it, but the paperwork was very "sketchy". Had I known back then what I know now, I would have bought the car in a heartbeat.
There are a few companies in Germany selling Sud parts:
http://www.servizio-alfisti.de/
is one of them. If you want me to, I can find other companies, too.
My 79 Sud Giardinetta is being restored in Germany right now and so far we have not had any problems yet finding the parts.
I have a Sud 5m in original condition with 40.000 km and it still has the original paint and interior. It's titled in WA state.
I displayed it at the concorso italiano in Monterey in 2002 and 2003.
Last year I displayed my Alfa 90.

Best regards from Oceanside, CA

Just Suds Parts Sourcing

Another week has passed with no email nor telephone contact from Phill at JustSuds.

Do any of you Brits have suggestions for parts suppliers I(in England) for my 1986 Sprint?

Still looking for reliable source for engine/tranny mechanical overhaul parts.

Regards,

Doug Z.

Sprint Parts

Doug,

Have you tried Steve Parry? (see my reply above).
I have always had a reply from him (including Saturdays) and if he doesn't have the parts in, he can normally locate them in a few weeks.

The other place to try is on the AROC classifieds section of their website
www.aroc-uk.com

all the best,

Hi

Look at this E-Bay Seller http://stores.ebay.de/Classic-Cars-H...Q3amesstQQtZkm

I know its german but he sells the parts you need. Head-gaskets, O-rings, Exhauxst-gasket and so on for only 40 euros.... that's really cheap!

DCZ; I'm an organiser in the AROC & have plenty of people who could help you out......including myself.

I've got a barn full of Sprint bits, with no home to go to. & ironically I just sold two engines & gearboxes on ebay for £50. Off the top of my head this is what I know "sprint-wise" I have in the barn;
2 doors in white
full zender bodykit in white
rear lights
LCD dash clock
Speedos & Tachos.
got plenty of headlights if they are the same as the round sud ones.
full set of spare alloys (imperial ones not metric)
Seats / carpet etc...

I also have a freind who has a garden full of suds & sprints, based in Norfolk UK.

So for 2nd hand parts I should be able to help, not sure about new bits though......I'll ask Steve when I next see him (bout 2 weeks).

ASIUAS; I've just been offered a very late RHD Giardinetta - its a bit of a rot box, but the cars complete. I'm really tempted, but unfortunatly I'm no welder. what should a rust one of these be worth ? needs the usual....sills, wings etc..
