Raining :(
For all of you who have been praying for rain, I regret to inform you that Australia Post's airfreight has delivered it all to the wrong address...
It's at my place at the moment, awaiting collection all 8-900mm of it...
The view from my back fence... The flood peak came about 3 hours after the photo. No travelling for obvious reasons.
Water has receded slightly, might be low enough to get to work tomorrow

Gotta love this country, huh? Everyone else screaming for the stuff and you get it all. Been watching on the news, hope everyone and everything is OK

G'Day Adam,
I've been wondering how you were fairing, any damage?
Did the Alfa's make it to high ground? (Alfa content).
Typical of Australia Post, just stick it back in the letterbox.

Hey Evilgidget -
our place at Yarramalong (a bit South of you) had similar problems....
20 inches of rain in 1.5 days!!
Meanwhile in Sydney.... they only got 45ml in the watre catchment area...
Perhaps a better stormwater catchment scenario would help solve our water problems...
Note how the road became a river.....
I couldn't get shots of the rest of the valley, but basically the river went from about 10 metres wide to at least 150m wide in some parts.... (not an exaggeration but more an underestimate)

There are about 10 cars along the side of the road today that shouldn’t have attempted to go through the floods (most of them 4WDs)..
Thankfully no Alfas……
From the top of our property you could see sheds, water tanks, horses and cows being washed down river/paddock…..
Thankfully in our area there were no human casualties……
There's plenty to clean up now though...

Waterfront property! Sell!
20" in 1˝ days, daaamn.
We had some rain too here this winter that shut down trains becaus tunnels were flooded (and flooded the local Alfa parts/shop) but that was nothing compared to this! Some fools amused themself by riding wakeboard behind sea-doos in the streets though, that was pretty funny.

Typical Sydney councils though - Bicker about it for 6 months while the weather is bone dry, then when they get the rain they so desperately need, it runs out to sea because they've done no preperation to collect the water when it DOES rain...
You have the right idea going off your photos - Auctioning it off to Sydneysiders while you have it
My Alfas were fine - There's a steep rise to the carport so they weren't affected.
Heard of news through work of our Tuggerah store today - Floodwater came in quickly there, washed stock completely out of the store & spread it all over town... It was enough to wash their 2.5 tonne forklift 150 meters down the street on it's side... Some cases of not-so-good news, a few people scattered about who were in the wrong place at the wrong time, such as the family on the old pacific highway when it washed out. Tragic, but could have been MUCH worse overall.
Other places are slowly drying out, but for how long is anyone's guess - The BOM is predicting more rain & storms this weekend... Just what we need
