Help & PArts (re-posted here from general)

Hi all,
I know there are soome of you out there who reside in Sydney or close by. I am brand new to this BB & own a 73 105 series GTV. She runs well, has been painted although someone nicely ran into my door and interior is reasonable. Photos too come.

And I am starting the process of clutch master & slave rebuild probably 1, 2, and 3 syncros then on to the brakes & suspension. I know there are all sorts of upgrade kits for suspension & brakes around but have no idea where to start.

Please can someone get me off the beaten track and onto the path.

Rupert

Rupert Welcome to the BB. Here is a link to the AROCA website, the page in question has a list of suppliers around OZ . There are a few good ones in Sydney, but also speak with Turin Imports in Adelaide and Milano Spares in Melbourne . Good luck.

Hi Rupert,

Which part of Sydney are you in?

When you say performance upgrades do you mean mild tweaks, or street racer?

There are mechanics and places around that can help. The web sites above are great places to search and see what's out there and how much it costs. Once you have a good idea of what you want then try some of the Aussie places as well. Old parts are a global industry so prices are similar around the world. I have my eye on some bits from Alfaholics because they engineer some really nice race stuff. A lot of the stuff can be found here as well. Most of my suspension bits were bought from Vince Sharp (Pace Engineering) in Melbourne. He's a great source of information but it's in his head not on the web.

Good luck, you've come to the right place.

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

thanks and thanks to others who have posted. I am thinking of mainly mild tweaks. But I definatly want more performance I need to reduce the body roll & be able to stop! as well as improving the look of my GTV.

I suppose rather than buying something new I want to up spec my gtv to make it more comfortable and enjoyable to drive (as well as safe) as I drive it more like it was a 911 than a 105.

Oh im in belllevue hill (eastern suburnbs)

Cheers Rupert

I don't know that car. I have seen a white one garaged in one of the streets that lead back up the hill from the shops off O'Sulivan road, thought that might be yours. I always see plenty of 105s when I am in Sydney. My car came was bought off a bloke in Drummoyne in 03. I think there used to be another 105 coupe down Drumalybin Rd but have not seen that for a few years.
