Giulia GTA for sale in Victoria

Asking $160,000AUD

http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/...a/2618787.aspx

Does anyone know anymore about this car? Would work out to around 65,000GBP, or 95,000 Euro. How do you think the price compares to the world market for the GTA's? (There was a GTA Corsa that went in Bonhams Monaco 2005 auction for about $125,000AUD).

Just on this, what other significant post-war Alfas have come up for sale in Australia in the last few years? I would love to hear that a Giulietta SZ was around!

Lautista: welcome to the BB.

This is now the third mention of this car on the BB though.. so checking and searching is always good before thread starting.

This car was featured in a write up i Unique Cars a few years back, I would say maybe 2005? I remember reading it in a Fish and Chip shop sometime after the magazines publication though so i cant place the date. I remember though that it's restoration was meticulous, all its history was accounted for and it was in good hands.

I think if I remember correctly too it may actually originally have been a GTA Stradale, but I cant be too sure on that, certainly looks more like a Corsa now.

160K for a GTA? Tough call, but like we've been discussing elsewhere on here (The Pub...), if people are paying 680K for a Phase III falcon..... 160K for one of the best touring cars of all time seems like small change.

Ciao

Ahh yes, I searched through the Australian section of the board and couldn't find a thread title, but I will search more thoroughly in the future.

Thanks for the information on the car, I will have to search through some old Unique Cars!

Why?, the lack of bumpers?

Pete

I've been told there's a guy in Perth with 2 GTAs. Perhaps this is one of his cars

Yeah damo I believe it is, the car still wears a WA plate in the pics.

Pete - Yeah.. Thats a good enough reason isnt it It also seems to be running slightly wider than Stradale rubber but i might be imagining it. The interior certainly is very Stradale, but im far from an expert on GTAs.

Isn't the guy with the two GTAs a member here?

I dont think its so ridiculous in price. I mean, a Sprint GT/V in that condition would find $16K and the GTA is at least ten times as rare...

That's just my logic. At the end of the day its the old mantra... As much as blah, blah, blah.

It would be terrific to know what it ends up selling for though.

Dec 04 Pete, and your right it's the same car and an original RHD Stradale. Good article too.

This is the car that burned out at Gulson's in Canberra in the early 70's (?) and was rebodied during restoration in the 90's.

The then owner also had a 68 GTA 1300 Junior according to the article.

I thought that it was for sale around then too? $125K? Might be wrong.

I am no expert but surely a Corsa wouldn't have a radio fitted as this one does ???

What's the difference ? I assume Stradale is the street version and Corsa is a full blown race car ?
