Alfa Documentation

Just starting a thread on all things paperwork.

I've heard that the AR museum can supply good copies of a host of manuals and period-correct documentation for older models. Maybe worth pursuing for that handbook etc to commplete your concourse resto project.

Ebay is also an excellent source of that sort of things. Other places to look are:

Faxon
Franco Luperini
Schiff European

If anyone has duotone drawings of any Alfa models that look like the ones Ive posted here please let me know... Its how I make things like the cars in my sig and the 1750 Berlina colour guide etc.

Id love to do a colour guide for the Giulia Super, 1750 GTV and 2000 GTV.

Ta!

P.S I have noticed Alfa seem to have four types of duotone drawings....

1. Basic but accurate with solid black or white areas
2. Very accurate but more of a line drawing, with dot matrix shading for 'grey' effect, used often in dimension drawings in manuals.
3. Basic line drawings, very little colour differentiation, often a little scruffy and inaccurate, these are used for parts manuals.
4. What looks like crayon or pencil drawings, often seen in brochures and in more detailed owners manual drawings.

Basically, 2, 3 and 4 are a bit hard to use, although some 2 ones are ok, like the dashboard drawing in the image above.

ME thinks that when the good people at Alfa Romeo did the profile drawing of the Berlina the car in question had a few kilos of Chianti and Salami in the boot...

Well this bird has a few kilos of Chianti and Salami and she's probably connected to the mafia and has a few bodies in the back of the Berlina... trust me, its possible... ive crawled into the boot of the berlina quite comfortably!

In actual fact, this particular model is quite a honey, but she's just worked out one of the golden rules of Berlina ownership - if you park up a hill, your car looks weird.

Actually I just got an email from Marco in Milan, ALFA are sending me all the manuals and catalogues I requested for both cars. Cool cannot wait. I am just going to take a look at my full list of ALFA period brochures that I have down stairs. Back soon.

It wasn't until the early '70s that the dropped front look became cool. Plenty of 50s and 60s cars were visually lower at the rear. XK120/150, E-type, Muira, most Ferraris, and most Alfas.

My collection started with the small 1750 Gt Veloce pamphlet (S1) and grew from there. haven't bought one in ages though, about the time the GTv arrived, funny that .. I also have a printing blank made for newspaper advertising for the UK with an ad for the 1750 GTV. Scanning it now and will reverse image and negative it so that it is readable.

Phil - any drawings like the ones previously described in there?

PS.. Id love that GTV cutaway one... if your scanner is big enough to handle it.
