Who needs a speedo on an ALFA . Actually before you think about trying to find a replacement, which I have no idea where and how much that will cost. I have another possibility for you, we have a Gauge restoration place here in Brisbane called Lionel Otto Instruments. Give them a call before you do anything, I am sure they can fix it and it will be way cheaper than a replacement speedo. I know that 1750 speedos are common and relatively cheap but I have no idea about a Giulia Sprint GT speedo. I haven't had a chance to test mine as I have never driven my sprint
Here is the link.

I may only own two ALFAs now, but the handle stays as I am always chasing another one.

I have never used them before personally, but I know they are bloody good. To be honest I have looked at both ALFAHOLICS and CLASSICALFAS websites (they are both UK based) and they don't even list instruments, that is how hard they are to find. Look at the other option, you could TRY and find one on ebay or through the BB or AROCA, BUT how do you know that the gauge is ok, you may have to get that sorted as well. Also I don't know about sprints gauges (ALFA2GO feel free to wade in here) but with the 1750 there were 2 brands for all the gauges Veglia and Jaeger, now the senders are different for each brand, I always thought that applied to the Fuel gauge only, but ALFA2Go assures me that it applies to them all. So IF you find a replacement you then need to make sure that it is the same brand as the one you have.
I am certain that getting it serviced is going to be cheaper in the long run, short cuts as I have found from bitter experience is always more expensive.
Don't worry I am in the same boat my 1750 speedo has done the same thing, now I own three sets of gauges for the 1750. I am still going to take my original over to get serviced as I cannot be sure the other two sets work ( I know one set is Veglia anyway).
Give them a call what do you have to lose ?

Here is a full set for sale on Ebay in the UK. I still don't think this is the smart way to go on this one.

Mullet, I went to Otto's yesterday to inquire about my gauges. A full service on a set of 4 gauges will probably cost no more than $280 max all up, that service, calibration etc. They also paint the inside of the gauge white to increase the brightness. I think that is pretty good considering what they have to do. I think this makes more sense than buying a set that you have no guarantee is any better than the ones you currently have. Short cuts cost you more in the long run, but hey that is your decision .

I'm going to give them a call tomorrow, but has anyone had Ottos sort out the ancilliary gauges on a stepnose (The milky perspex problem)?
