Possibly FS: '66 Siuper
All,
I'm buying a house so the Suiper may be offered for sale to the right buyer. If you have searched in vain to find a 105 sedan that can truly be used daily, this is it.
Absolutely NO RUST. She has been fastidiously waxoyled by at least two previous owners. I drive her daily but think she deserves better as it's only a few KMs to work. I'll be 'downgrading' to an Alfa hack (90, 75, 164 ?) if I sell.
I've added inertia reel belts to the front, 3 belts to rear, and two child harness attachments. So you can take the family on club outings. Registered as a 5-seater.
Recently passed a thorough Vic roadworthy, only requiring two front brake hoses. Mechanic made specific comment on how solid and tight the car was.
All suspension is excellent and tight (urethane bushes), reco steering box, reco gearbox, reco brakes, new 15" Michelins, serviceable limit straps. All rubbers are good. New battery.
What Wrong With It ?: Well, the heater needs a cable and while I'm yet to test it out, the heater valve looks good and has new hoses to it. I assume it doesn't leak. Rear view mirror has a terrible rattle. Both rear doors need a slight adjustment as they require a good slam to latch properly. Heater/vents need new ducting. There is a water leak into the boot in a downpour. I reckon it's through the tail light. Interior/cabin stays dry. Fuel gauge is dodgy which I think is a combination of a bad earth and a soaked fuel float. Odomoter is missing the reset cable.
This car has had a LOT of work done prior to my (short) ownership and really only needs a slight fettling because it hasn't done many miles in the past 9 years. Starts immediately and idles perfectly. Door key fits boot and I even have the key for the glovebox All upholstery and carpet is perfect and it's recently had a new headling in original material. Wipers work, and even sweep at a decent speed.
Did I mention NO RUST ? Floors are perfect. Inner and outer sills, jack points and the rear of the front inner guards are all rust free. I've had the vent plenum off and there's no evidence of rust or previous repairs there either.
If you are serious, give me a call. I'll be absolutely and brutally honest so there will be no surprises. I can give detailed description of what was done by PO and at what cost (over $20K !).

...or that trailer behind the hedge in the last picture.

Yep, the next sequential plate was actually UPA-92 4 but I told the guy I wasn't putting a filthy Porsche number on my Italian purebred . He gave me the next plate.
-924 is now on some Nissan Silvia or some-such in town, which is appropriate

THis was the last AROCQ president's car, you know who I mean. He had it for about 10 years I think. Was originally from South Australia.

While I Had It Ben ???? She's still sitting in the garage. .................................................. ............................(20seconds later)........Yes, I just checked, and she's still there
PO to me was a former President QLD AROCA. He had it for 9 years and spent lots, as you would expect.
Car was originally white according to personally signed letter from Elvira I have in the history file . Chassis # AR721581 (105.28). It was originally sold to Adelaide and PO purchased it from Adelaide. No idea where it had been in the intervening decades.
Engine # is AR 00526 54981

Full Vic rego. I would happily provide a RWC if required. Thec only thing picked up last time were the front brake hoses, which I was thankful for. They were bad.
Tyres are near new Michelin 15/165s.
Due to water restrictions I haven't had a chance to give her a good spruce up (don't want to hit her with a commercial pressure washer) but I can provide pics of anything.
Don't have any spares. Doesn't need any One thing I did fail to mention is tyhat the drivers door stay (formed into the lower hinge) is no longer working. Something that has potential to end in tears and should be top of any new owners fixit list.
The conditiun of the body was the reason I bought this car. She's been waxoyled all he life I'd hazard a guess. Absolutely rock solid and rust free. The paint is a bit thick and has a few chips around the edges, but no more than you'd expect from a 5 year old corolla. Actually, it's surprising how rigid the panels are on a Super. All those subtle curves add great structure so no panels 'give' under hand pressure as they do on a lot of other models.
Engine is a 1600. Induction !!!!! W.E.B.E.R of course. Is there any other kind ???
The steering weight is great, but I'd say you could turn it into a real pig with big fat tyres.
Suitable buyer ? Someone with cash.
